On February 27th, two of our students (Brad and Chandler) went to the Georgia State Capitol to participate in @gaddcouncil Advocacy Day for IPSE programs. It was a memorable experience for both of them, and an amazing day of advocacy for programs like GOALS throughout the state to talk to our legislators about supporting our programs and the students in them. Rachel, a student in our program, worked with the CAA (Center for Accomodation and Access) office on campus to help CSU faculty and staff learn about service dogs on campus! There is often a disconnect in understanding the differences between service animals and emotional support animals, and Rachel sought to help explain these differences and how professors can be more aware within classroom settings.
