So I did a thing.... and I'm really excited about it! 1964 Lincoln Continental She'll be here next week. This is going to be my new daily. My excuse being to keep the miles off the F350 dually so it's there for me when I need to tow something, it's an expensive truck that's in great shape-- I'd like to keep it that way for when work needs to be done.... I may have to do a little work on her before she becomes that, and ultimately I have big plans... but if I can fix a minor oil leak with the current engine it could become my daily soon. Then in a little time... it gets the 572 BBF, possibly a supercharger-- I like the idea of a Roots blower for looks, but we'll see, there are better ways to make power so that would be largely about asthetics and staying period-correct. Honestly... Something's gotta protrude through the hood in some manner to make me happy . And I'm thinking "gunmetal murder" (GunMurder?) for the color scheme. I'll redo the interior black, or maybe black with gunmetal accents/piping/something. Exterior plans are a deep satin gunmetal on all sheetmetal... and black powercoat trim. All satin finish. Dark tint windows. Boomin' stereo. Oh, and of course... MS3Pro Engine Management. I can't wait. -Jerry

Donut Media did a killer video, unsolicited by us in any way (meaning-- I had to look their order up when I saw this and they paid full price, never asking for anything), and their video has darn near a million views now after just 13 days. Bravo guys.... wanna do some more videos? ;) This is a great video for ANYONE considering an MSPNP or MSPNP Pro for their project. He goes through the whole process, from install to adding a wideband to first start and base timing settin...g, to putting it on the dyno and dialing it in. Very complete, nicely done. Enjoy. #donutmedia #diyautotune #ampefi #mspnp #mspnppro #ms3pro https://youtu.be/GN0CSQDui1A

Pic for attention, you know the top of that doesn't look right. This is a pic I pulled online, my engine is at the shop and hard to photograph from my office I'm working from at home right now. So I asked this on my personal page at https://www.facebook.com/jerryhoffmann a while back and got some good responses, but I want to cut you guys/gals loose... DIY Nation... and see what you might have to add to the conversation that has been had so far. So let’s say you had a 460... BBF, and that doesn’t really matter because you have another one, fresh, built and punched out and stroked to 572ci, all forged internals, custom heads, moderate compression. Estimated to have been a $50,000 build IIRC, from the company that left is with us many years ago now after they went belly up. I don’t have details on the cam. Would have to measure. Can be changed if needed. So you have this motor, just sitting there. Whispering to you. You have been wanting something fun to drive on the street for a while now. Has to be a classic for obvious reasons (just would be out of place in anything new) and to ensure it’s non-emissions controlled so there’s no issues there. This means 1967 or older. You want to be able to carry passengers. Let’s say it’ll ride 4. You like old school bench seats, but buckets are cool too if the ride is right. You’re going to want to resto-mod it. Air conditioning and heat. Possibly power windows. Sound deadening. Killer brakes and suspension. Modern electronics with a sound system that will wake the dead and have them singing their favorite song. A driver. Yes, I intend to daily whatever I choose here.... if I can manage to restomod it to comfort, which needs really not to be an if, but a definite. I guess that adds another requirement.... it needs to fit in my garage and I'm not going to leave it outside when done. That could be a vote for a smaller bodystyle, or at least require me to get out the tape measure. My garage is pretty good size, 22' deep I think, though has a refrigerator in in that sticks out maybe 3' from the back, so I have maybe 19' of space. You know you might (probably) end up with a supercharger sitting on top making part of it’s home through a hole in the hood. What roller do you buy to stuff it in? Must be Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. Optionally- Post a picture with year of your favorite version of this car or maybe truck if it somehow still has some seating capacity and is still cool as all get out. Come on there DIY Nation-- what da ya got? -Jerry Hoffmann Founder/Owner DIYAutoTune/AMPEFI
