Young Choreographer Benefit Show for Kate’s Legacy It’s show day!! Our last choreographer is Kate McKay Kate choreographed a dance in her bedroom a few years... ago and had her mom film it while she performed it in costume full out with feeling. Kate loved creating her own dances and we thought what better way to honor her than to recreate this dance on a larger scale! The finale of our show today will be a lyrical piece choreographed by Kate and performed by all of the GGSOD Competitive Ensemble dancers. To support Kate and the GGSOD dancers text DANCE4KATE to 44-321. See more

We have taken a moment to pause and reflect on the tragic deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. We understand that these are the most recent events in a long history of hate and discrimination in our country and it has to stop. We are saddened and heart broken. We are committed to providing a loving, safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all of our students, faculty, and guests. A place to share ideas, create art, and develop into better humans ...in all times, but especially during these trying times. Dance is an art and is built on the backbone of people from every walk of life so we should celebrate all of its beautiful shades and colors. We will do all we can to be more involved in our Savannah community and our dance community to create real change. We stand against racism and know that Black Lives Matter.

It’s Recital Weekend!!! In our 52 years, we’ve had some unusual recitals here and there In 1989 A transformer blew in the middle of our recital, cutting electricity to the entire building. THE SHOW MUST GO ON! So everyone came back to the theatre the next weekend and we put on our show.... This year’s recitals will definitely be ones for the books! We invite you all to join us this weekend, where from the safety of their living rooms and with their parents in the front row (aka their couches), our dancers will showcase what they’ve learned this year IN A VIRTUAL RECITAL. The show must go ONLINE! So that’s what we’re doing Dancers have worked hard this year, they have their costumes and they are ready to perform. It might not be perfect and that’s okay! These recitals are about so much more than that. In addition to dance steps and technique, we teach our dancers to overcome adversity, to adjust to changes quickly and to be flexible (in more ways than one). That’s what they’ve done for the last two months and we couldn’t be more proud to showcase their hard work this weekend. Watch live shows here all weekend: www.ggsod.com/live Friday 5:00-7:30 All 5th-12th Grade Classes Saturday 9:00-11:45 All Preschool Classes Saturday 1:00-3:45 All K-1st Classes Sunday 1:00-5:15 All 2nd-4th Classes Enjoy our pre-recorded Finale Video: https://vimeo.com/418717461
