Congratulations Iris Magaly Zayas for winning a 2020 True Professionals of Arboriculture Award! Zayas has a degree in natural sciences with concentration in biology from the University of the Sacred Heart in Santurce, Puerto Rico and she is an ISA Certified Arborist. She started her career as one of the first two urban forestry technicians at the Department of Natural Resources in Puerto Rico. She also worked as an urban and community forestry specialist with the US/USDA Forest Service in Atlanta, Georgia. Iris was cofounder and first chair of ISA Hispanic Committee from 1996 to 1999 and she has again been serving as chair since 2019.
