Richmond Hill Police Department 12.11.2020

We at the Richmond Hill Police Department wanted to take a moment and express our gratitude to the many citizens of Richmond Hill for the tremendous outpouring of support we have received over the last few weeks and months.. Our department has received numerous phone calls, cards, and personal messages of encouragement from our community. We have had the honor of being the recipients of many kind messages, supplies, and some great food. Various businesses, churches, and famil...ies have gathered together to send a very positive message of support and encouragement. Thank you so very much. Thank you for re-affirming why it's often said around here, "You Can't beat the hill." Chief Shores Richmond Hill Police Department

We have received multiple phone calls and messages about a video that was posted by a female officer complaining about her service at a local restaurant. The officer in the video does not work for nor represent the Richmond Hill Police Department. We have contacted the agency she works for and have passed along our concerns.

TRAFFIC SHIFT ALERT Hwy 144 project traffic shift upcoming Thursday, March 26, 2020 RICHMOND HILL - Weather permitting, Preferred Materials Inc. will shift... eastbound drivers within the $27 million State Route 144/Bryan Neck Road project area the night of Thursday, March 26. This planned action will shift the eastbound lane between Rabbit Hill road and Charlies Road onto new construction all the way to the roundabout, while the westbound lane will remain in place. Traffic will remain in this pattern until the median portion of this traffic shift can be complete. Once the westbound shift is complete in the next four to five weeks, traffic will be completely shifted off the old highway alignment onto new lanes from Timber Trail Road to Belfast River Road. Motorists traveling through a work zone should expect the unexpected. It can make the difference between life and death. Pay attention, slow down and watch for workers. GDOT is committed to keeping workers and travelers safe.

Over the past few days, a group of thieves have stolen four cars and various other items from unlocked vehicles in some of our neighborhoods. The Richmond Hill Police Department is actively investigating these cases and we have several promising leads we are following. Through citizen tips and these leads, we have already recovered two of the stolen vehicles as well as some of the other stolen property. We are asking for the assistance of our residents. Please remove all valuables from your vehicle. Lock your car. Take your keys with you. Also, if anyone notices anything suspicious, please call our dispatchers right away by dialing 911 for emergencies or 912-756-2626 for non-emergencies.
