Why is it important to maintain swimming lessons year-round? To Save Those Skills! Maintain the skills your swimmer has worked so hard developing by swimming year-round. Just like any other skill, you need to use it in order to retain it, particularly with developing children. Can you imagine if your child took a break from reading for 9 months?

Meet Brigette Tucker who teaches at our Dekalb locations and helps us with scheduling and customer service. You have haven't already had the pleasure of meeting her, Ms Brigette has been teaching lessons for quite a while, and we are so happy to have her on our staff. Because of Ms Brigette's experience, we have asked her to write some blog posts about swim lessons and related topics. Here is her first in a serious we hope to continue in the future: Learning To Swim, A Confi...dence Builder: Recently, one of our clients emailed us her gratitude for getting her son to a place of confidence to join his school’s swim team. He had not been inclined to participate before taking lessons with SafeSplash. That student’s story is very common. Trying something new can initially seem intimidating and scary. Swimming, in particular, can seem so. If you do not know basic water safety and swim skills, being around water is risky. Socially, not being acclimated to water can keep you from having safe water fun with your friends. We often hear from parents that their child did not like being in the water until swim lessons. That feeling of accomplishment does wonders for self-esteem. You no longer have to sit on the sidelines while your peers enjoy water activities at pool parties, camp, etc. Swim lessons are an important investment for a lifetime full of fun, friends and aquatic opportunities! Thank you, Ms Brigette

Why is it important to maintain swimming lessons year-round? Water Safety: Swimming is the only sport that can save your child’s life! Drowning is the #1 cause of unintentional, injury-related death among children ages 1-4. Swimming lessons reduce the chance of drowning by 88% so water safety should be a continuous effort!
