Simply Made Cochran

Due to the lack of business, we will not be continuing to open the Christmas Showcase. I personally invested my time and money attempting to get new business and customers for the shop. I had hoped for a miracle to save a woman's livelihood and home. It seems that it will not happen this year. The entire reason my family took on this monumental endeavor was to help save someone's home and business. A lady that we love very much. My children and I spent countless hours, workin...g together to bring some magic to our town. To show how special Georgia is and how love is the basis of everything we are. I will say I'm disappointed in the fact that it all seems to have been of little help. Allow me to share some things I've have been reminded of while being in the store this season: None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. We all fail or hurt others. We all grow and hopefully learn. We all can be cruel or be kind. Growing up and living in a small town is an amazing experience. It also has a darker side. Grudges can be held forever. Differences of opinion can not only destroy friendships, but businesses as well. But forgiveness can mend this all. I spent a lot of time praying that God would grant me wisdom and insight to make this labor of love work. I truly believe that it was what He wanted me to do. Regardless of the fact the doors rarely welcomed customers, I still know I obeyed what He asked of me. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing new people. That's a blessing within itself. Knowing the love I put into the store and watching the heart break and tears from my daughters when no one came in... It hurt us all, them a bit deeper than they let show. They had worked so hard. We came in to help save someone. We tried. And although we may not have been successful as defined by the world, we surely did succeed. My children learned that: Sometimes things don't work out but it will be ok. Putting in the work and praying changes everything, just not the way you may want. God's plan is always better than our own. That truly loving someone is a sacrifice, not a trade off. But mostly, they saw their mom not give up when everyone told her she was wasting her time. I hope they saw me listen to what God called me to do. Even when the world said we were insane. They are proud of themselves and that is a miracle worth everything. So yes, this journey for Simply Made has come to end. But I hope to see it back up and running soon. The store is not closing.
