Enduring Hurricanes Laura and Delta within the span of six weeks has shaken southwest Louisiana. The road to recovery is long, but care and compassion is being embodied through support from UMCOR and United Methodists across the country.

UMCOR 24.05.2020

UMCOR is in communication with partners in Mexico and the U.S. in response to Hurricane Delta, namely the hard-hit state of Louisiana that endured Hurricane Laura only six weeks ago. The storm’s strong winds and heavy rain have left many without power and caused widespread flooding. Damage assessments that began over the weekend will continue into this week, with the tarping of roofs and mucking out of homes serving as initial relief. Please continue to pray for the strengt...hening and endurance of survivors, volunteers, and communities that are navigating one disaster on top of another. With your support, UMCOR is able to offer disaster-affected communities the support they need.
