I commend President Trump on this action. Seems he is now draining the swamps in Tennessee as well. I happen to be close friends with two people in Chattanooga that were given their "Reduction in Force paperwork." They were 60 years of age with approximately 20 years of service in the TVA Technology Department. They were advised several weeks ago "IF" you will cooperate and help train the "New Foreign Contract Employees" we will keep you employed until October 2020. I'm told ...there were approximately 250 employees given notice. Please read this article closely... I may not always agree with Donald Trump however, his actions in this situation must be commended. I salute and support you Mr. President! I ask each of my friends to share this post as quickly as possible. https://www.wrcbtv.com//tva-rescinds-decision-to-outsource

Many of you may remember when Tom Graves initially ran for Congressman in our district. I strongly supported Tom holding multiple open houses at my office, offering you the opportunity to meet Tom personally and visit with him. I’m proud of the job Tom Graves has done for our district and was sad to learn Tom had decided not to run again. Today, more than ever our vote for our next 14th District Congressman is a very important decision. I ask each of you to take a look at the... entire platform that both of our candidates are running on John Cowan and his wife, Annie are physicians in Rome, Georgia and have lived in our district for years. Think about all the years the Cowan family have devoted to become professionals in their fieldsPeople with this kind of ambition and professionalism deserve your votes! It is with a heavy heart I post the sad news that Leslie Long of our Kwalata Safaris, Zambia, Africa team passed away last night of heart complications. Myself and many of you who read this post have hunted with Leslie. Leslie Long was a true Professional Hunter from the old school days. Mumbwa camp way back in the Kafuwe area will always remind many of us of Leslie. We have always referred to this area as the Wild West... Leslie took his Toyota Land Cruiser loaded it with ...tools, supplies, a small crew and opened this remote area up. Miles and miles of roads were cut in the bush, water points were located and Leslie built a Beautiful Safari camp. I was lucky enough to be a member of the first group to travel here and hunt those Giant Sable. While sharing in the joys of being in a true African Wilderness Camp and area. I have not met many people in my life like Leslie. It was always a joy to feel the plane lift off here filled with excitement and anticipation knowing even though I faced more than 8 thousand miles of travel myself, Leslie, Peter, and Sarge would be sharing the sights, sounds and smells of the African Bush together soon. All of us loved you and will miss you "General Long!"

Many thanks to my friend Scottie Davis for sending this photo to me today. Scottie said "I found this in my great grandmothers scrapbook." I remember this photo and news paper article in the Dade County Sentinel. The hand written date is 10/25/1989. Fred's son Ron McBryar still hunts and is one of our areas respected, successful businessmen. In addition, Ron's wife Vickie, owns one of our areas leading Realty Companies. Seems I remember one of Fred's grandson's, Hunter or Ch...ase, taking their 1st Elk with us at a very young age. If Ron or Vickie happen to see this post, please send a photo of their first Elk. Time passes so fast! Wes Hixon's Outdoor Adventure is approaching 40 YEARS in this industry!!!

"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." With all of the uncertainties, closings and warnings surrounding this Coronavirus, I went home for lunch today. After stepping out of the office I couldn't help but think today is probably the prettiest day of this year thus far here in North Georgia. The Bradford Pears, Cherry, Peach and Redbud trees are blooming. I snapped a few photos to share with my facebook friends and family around the world. No matter where in the world each of us are have faith this "Pandemic" will pass and our lives, businesses, families and trees will blossom again!!

We are receiving large amounts of emails and telephone calls surrounding your travels concerning the Coronavirus. While we aim to operate through one-to-one relationships, I felt it was best to communicate through email and social media to all of our clients notifying them of the situation. Please be assured we are handling everyone’s trips on an individual basis with those scheduled to travel within the next 30 days as our top priority. At this time, we must take care of the... immediate travelers and we’ll begin discussing later trips once those individuals taken care of. While no one could foresee the Coronavirus pandemic happening, it is a perfect example of why we recommend travel insurance. Those of you who elected to purchase travel insurance obviously made the right decision. If you are in the process of booking a trip, please contact our office to discuss travel insurance protection. As you know, the situation is very fluid and we’ll work with each of you to make a plan based on current information regarding travel bans, quarantines, and related items. Thank you and we appreciate your understanding during this trying time.

The DCSO 7th annual Fundraiser was held on January 18, 2020. The proceeds from this year’s event were given in the amounts of $5,000.00 to the Children’s Advo...cacy Center, and $5,000.00 to the Hand Up Ministry. These are two very worthy recipients that are helping our Dade County residents. Sheriff Ray Cross and Wes Hixon (Chairman of the DCSO Fundraiser) are pictured here presenting checks to Anthony Dye (Interim Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center) and Rex Mayo (Director of Hand Up Ministry). Wes Hixon's Outdoor Adventures 04.02.2019

During the Thanksgiving Holiday, we have fallen behind on our Facebook and Instagram posts. We have many successful trophy photos to post in the next few days. First I want to start with a very special young man who sent Uncle Wes these photographs of his trophy, 42.5-inch Sable, that dad Peter Chipman allowed him to harvest for his High School graduation gift. Congratulations Samir! Without a doubt this young man is destined to carry on the 4th generation of Chipman Professional hunters!

Watch closely... This will give you some indication as to how stealth a Leopard is!! Sad but true they do live in the suburbs of Africa and dogs are oftentimes their prey!! George from Namibia shared this footage with us.

Food plot planting in Georgia... We are approximately 10 days behind schedule this year due to our record-breaking temperatures and drought... Here is how we roll... First, we soil sample...then we bush hog..spread 200 tons of lime as soil samples require.. We disk, plant 4,500 pounds of seed and spread 6 tons of fertilize... then anxiously watch the weather forecast and pray for rain...Think about all the work, the cost, and how we help our local economy with this project... We are HUNTERS yet make NO MISTAKE... We LOVE our wildlife!! #kubota #johndeere #landpride #camowrap #toyota #buckforageoats #austrianwinterpeas #winterwheat #clover #trophyrape #hunters
