WOW! WORD OF THE WEEK. April 9, 2020 OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH As I sat on my porch earlier this morning, breathing in the cool fresh air, observing the tree tops swaying in the breeze, and feeling the light mist of raindrops, I did my best to concentrate on this morning's devotional, Psalm 46...God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.... But my mind kept wandering. Suddenly it hit me! This is Jesus' last day of freedom. (Today) He was burdened with the imminent torture and pain He would endure. He was alone in agony in the garden of Gethsemane. He actually sweat drops of blood. In the morning He will be arrested, tried, found (not) guilty, and hung on a wooden cross, shouldering the sins of this world. His strength began to weaken until God sent an angel "strengthening Him." Thus He prayed, "Not My will, but Thine be done." Thank You God for strengthening Your Son and our Savior in His time of weakness. Thank you God, for strength to endure our times of trouble, grief, sorrow, loss, pain, separation, and loneliness. Furthermore, thank you for technology that keeps us connected in this season of separation due to this devastating coronovirus. While we cannot gather inside the church building, we are thankful that we can stay connected by various means of technology and actually "have church!" We see each others' faces and hear each others' voices! Strengthen the flock. Bless our loved ones and even those who despitefully use us. Have mercy upon us all. AMEN! WOW! Pastor Coleman
