One of the workshops I attended at the Teepa Snow conference was on using music as a life enrichment tool for those with dementia. The sense of rhythm is maintained into the late stages of dementia. Providing your loved one or group with some instruments like boom whackers, shakers, etc. is a great way to get them to engage with life and is guaranteed to produce smiles, laughter and enjoyment.
