THANK YOU, ADVOCATES for your tireless work to build support. There are some great gift ideas in this article. I love that they have some small item like warm socks and homemade things like cookies or making a personalized playlist of music. Personalized picture albums from vacations or other fun times may also be a great idea. A visit and your time is probably the best gift of all! Remember they may not understand language or be able to communicate but they always can tell when they are loved and cared for. The emotions stay even if th...e memories do not. Disclaimer: I have never used the company they are advertising for adaptive clothing. I'm sure there are plenty of options out there. https://pin.it/qlt6tlpng32u6c

One of the workshops I attended at the Teepa Snow conference was on using music as a life enrichment tool for those with dementia. The sense of rhythm is maintained into the late stages of dementia. Providing your loved one or group with some instruments like boom whackers, shakers, etc. is a great way to get them to engage with life and is guaranteed to produce smiles, laughter and enjoyment. Here is an article and video I found on creating a drum circle that I think will be useful for anyone interested in incorporating this into their loved ones life. Feel free to ask questions and I will try to elaborate if I can. https://www.alzheimersreadingroom.com//make-joyful-noise-f https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video
