Tomato seedlings are coming up. We’re definitely missing vine ripe tomatoes right now. Can’t wait to get these in the greenhouse!

It’s fitting for this to be last day in January. Cold and rainy, but great for working in the greenhouses. In our seedling greenhouse, we’ve got a second wave of cool-season crops popping up, such as cabbage, broccoli, beets, kohlrabi, swiss chard, fennel, celery, kailaan, and cauliflower. So much happiness on such a dreary day!

We’re starting more leaf mold for the garden that we’ll use next fall. Cam build a mobile leaf collector that can be moved into position wherever we’re shredding leaves. It makes the job much easier! Leaf mold is amazing, especially on heavy clay soils. We used most of our leaf mold in the pepper field last spring and it’s helped give us a pretty amazing pepper harvest!

It looks like rain the rest of the week, so we’re screening freshly made compost before it gets too wet. This will be used to top off rows, beds, and mix in with our seedling mix. #sustainable

I’m harvesting Yuzu, Meyer lemons, key lime, and a few Filipino limes for the market this morning. In this picture is yuzu, a wonderful citrus with a flavor profile that is tart and fragrant, closely resembling that of the grapefruit, with overtones of mandarin orange . #organic #citrus #citrusseason

Our family took a few days to get some much needed rest in the mountains near Asheville, NC, with some unreal views. Unfortunately, the hurricane cut our trip short, but it was still amazing.

Thank you so much for your prayers! The farm only had minor damage and some flooding. It could have been much worse. #grateful Thank you so much for your prayers! The farm only had minor damage and some flooding. It could have been much worse. #grateful
