Yesterday evening we had a customer pull up pulling her car on a trailer and asked me what it was going to cost to put another motor in her car because she just knew that something internal was broke based on the noise the car was making while running. So this morning we got straight to it, and upon further inspection we found that the noise was actually coming from the a/c compressor pulley that had broken. She was delighted to find out that she would still be able ...to take her grandson to the beach monday morning for his birthday. She asked how soon could we have it finished, and she was completely shocked when I told her that we would have it finished up in just a couple hours once she approved the quote! Once approved, I ordered a complete compressor kit from 1-800-RADIATOR and it was delivered and installed in no time. So not only did the compressor HAVE to be changed due to it being part of the serpentine system, we also vac'd down the entire a/c system and recharged it with the correct amount of freon. Now the car has ice cold air and the customer was very satisfied even said the air was blowing colder now than it ever has before, but most importantly her car is fixed and she still gets to take her grandson to the beach for his birthday and she didn't have to spend loads of money replacing her engine.
