Today was all about h-VENTILATION-ac. Back during the heat of the summer we discovered that this house needed an entire new furnace vent. Because of the hot attic it was scheduled out ‘till October. Get there today and find that this water heater vent is all jacked up. All because of a recent hack tankless heater install. While checking the water heater we then discovered the dryer wasn’t venting properly. Summers not done yet! Finished this Saturday job and now off to another sales appointment. We didn’t have much real estate to work with outside on this one and that’s what I like about these tiny little 5 speed inverter units. The previous installers refrigerant piping was garbage so we moved our new lineset over to accommodate the line hide. My son didn’t believe me when I told him not to use the bit that comes with the anchor kit in our German made hammer drill. A little upgrade today on a basic Goodman job. Here we installed a serviceable drain trap, a high efficiency filter cabinet and an Ecobee WiFi. We also cleaned the indoor coil and increased one of the 14x14 returns to a 14x20. It was our first time out here last week for a no cooling call because the original installing contractor would no longer respond. We go out, look in the attic and see water in the drain pan. The customer replies yes, last month they came out and found ...the same thing, they were here 5 min sucked it out and charged us $150. We then look inside the unit and find it’s full of blow-in insulation. They say you gotta be kidding?!
