Stimulus Q&A 1) Is Accurate Tax Service printing out stimulus checks? No. Our bank Santa Barbara Tpg has not given us authorization to print ANY checks. (If they let us we would)... 2) How will you receive your payment? If your refund was direct deposit then your funds should be direct deposited. (Bank has stated that if it’s not direct deposited then you will get a check directly from IRS) However Santa Barbara is not direct depositing funds to Walmart Money Cards, Walmart Direct to Cash so if you had any of those or a check printed in office then a check will be mailed to you. 3) Is the IRS sending stimulus to our office? No. We have nothing to do with your stimulus payment. The IRS will simply use the method and address they have on file for 2019 tax return or 2018 if you haven’t filed for 2019. 4) Why are some offices printing checks? Other offices may be using a different bank. It varies. I can only tell you what Santa Barbara TPG has informed us of. 5) What account number is being used and why is the last 4 of my social? It is actually your entire social that the bank uses so when your refund came in from the IRS they could route it to you. You actually paid them to do that with your refund. Now here comes the real issue. The govt did not want to pay the bank to handle these payments so Santa Barbara & many other banks opted not to participate meaning they are not letting us print checks for you because they would have to, 1) make sure our offices are still open, 2) send us blank checks to be able to print 3) route all of the funds to each individual office which are in the thousands & 4) expose tax preparers to possible Coronavirus in handling payments for 100’s of clients. I understand your frustration but as the individual office we had no say in it. To reiterate Accurate Tax Service & Solutions 2 is not directly involved in the payment of stimulus checks in any way. They are being handled by the IRS and Treasury Department.
