I don’t know about you, but is anyone else coming home completely drained and over stimulated this week? All of this energy has the world so upside down right now. It’s sad. I literally have come home every day this week and needed quiet, meditation time. Time alone in a dimly lit room with zero interference or the outside world. And it strangely has been exactly what my mind and soul needed.... Have you quieted your mind lately? Have you cleared all of the energy from the day? Releasing it and freeing space inside you does wonders. Pretty sure we could all use some of that.

This beauty has been a patient at AE for a while. She came with a goal in mind and knew she wanted to correct the lines around her mouth. She wanted to start conservatively and we began all treatment options. Finally, after a combo of Botox, Fillers, Threads and now one of our faves; PRP (plasma therapy), we finally accomplished the glow and bouncy skin she was looking for! ... You know we absolutely love combo therapy and this is why! Almost zero downtime and results that will last! #AELIFE

Hey y’all! Let’s start back with the basics! What is Botox? What is it used for?... Who should get it? Botox is a purified form of botulinum toxin A,which basically means there is no botulinum risk when used properly! This helps block the nerves that contract your facial muscles. This is a GREAT preventative against breakdown of collagen and muscles that haven’t formed yet. If you can’t move the muscle, a wrinkle can’t form right? Botox is used in our office for wrinkles ( how did you know?!), headaches, TMD related issues, lip volume, lengthening the face, brow lifts, chin dimpling, and to get rid of that 11 in between your brows. A detailed consultation will determine if you’re a candidate or not; pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18, we have to wait on treatment. Avoiding any blood thinners, alcohol the night before, injections during your cycle, or before any big events is discouraged. It usually lasts anywhere from 3-4 months as we encourage treatment at this time frame to prevent the muscles from becoming too strong again. Why do I have these deep nasolabial lines and folds around my mouth? Huge Nerdy Post Alert ~ Fun Fact... Did you know that your Procerus muscle, the main muscle that causes the 11 in between your eyes, is also responsible for the wrinkles/ bunny lines on the sides of your nose and the folds around your mouth? These are secondary wrinkles caused by the pulling of your procerus muscle. You actually have EIGHT, yes EIGHT muscles covering your nasal bone and they contribute to many of the problems associated around that area. In order to reduce the pulling on the medial part of the eyes, bunny lines, lines around the mouth, nasal flaring, and downward turn on the tip of the nose, we treat secondary muscles on the nasal dorsum. Usually 3 units of Botox or Dysport to the lateral sides or 3 units under the tip can help eliminate these dynamic muscle groups. Although this seems like a simple solution, this should be done by an experienced injector, as it can cause severe problems such as dropping of the mouth, and tear duct blockages if not placed correctly. (Sorry that seems so scary but it’s true!) Little treatments can be huge results
