DOUBLE YOUR PROTECTION! Dr. Fauci says if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective, and that’s the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95. Swipe to see the different types of mask options. ... Slide 2: A Well-Fitted Cloth Mask is 26% effective at blocking the virus. It may often slip down and woven fabric allows the virus to pass through, so double up and be sure your mask has a nose clip. Slide 3: A Well-Fitted Procedural Mask is 50% effective at blocking viral transmission. Beware of gaps at cheeks and create a custom fit with a cloth mask over this one. Slide 4: An N95 Mask is 95% effective at blocking viral transmission. These masks are not comfortable for all-day use, and are typically reserved for healthcare workers. Slide 5: A KN95 Mask likely has similar effectiveness as an N95 (95%) but is not officially authorized by NIOSH. These are available for around $2 each on Amazon, and can be worn multiple times with a cloth mask over it. KN95 masks are a more comfortable version of the hospital-grade N95. Wear an appropriate mask to help slow the spread! Be well. Be safe. Be Scottie Strong.

Angelica Martini '21 is an economics and international relations major at Agnes Scott. As a legally blind person, Angelica sought after a college that promoted and stood by providing accessible education. She chose to attend Agnes Scott because of the welcoming nature of the Office of Accessible Education as they assured she would be provided accommodations to set up her academic success. Angelica was previously a member of the Workforce Recruitment Program, a government-led initiative that provides job opportunities to people with disabilities. She gives many thanks to the OAE for introducing her to this resource and overall being an advocate for her and other people with disabilities across campus. Be sure to check out her takeover in our stories! #accessibilitymatters #aetakeover

Meet Carson (Hye) Kelly! Pronouns: She/Her Class year: 2023 Home: Portland, OR... Major/Minor: Philosophy Hye transferred from Portland State University to Agnes in fall 2020. Agnes has always been her top choice school. Even though it’s been hard not being on campus and meeting everyone in person, she has been able to meet people and make connections virtually. Overall, being a transfer student has been a good experience so far. I love the campus, the small class sizes, the message that ASC puts out in the world, and I’ve always just wanted to go to a small liberal arts college. #ntsw #transferstudentspotlight

Meet Jlynn Whitehead (they/them/she/her), known to their friends as Jai. They are an English major with a specialization in leadership. They are in the red Incredibles class of 2022. For the 2020-21 school year, Jlynn is an AMP mentor, a Legacy leader, and a student representative in the Board of Trustees. Outside of school, they work in a doggy daycare in Atlanta (best job ever!), and utilize their free time watching The Walking Dead and organizing/reorganizing various things in their life. Be sure to check out Jlynn’s takeover on our stories today! #accessibilitymatters #AEtakeover

Meet Nicole LaRae Ruth Frishe! Pronouns: She/Her Class year: Not sure :) Home: Newnan, GA... Major/Minor: Anthropology She transferred to Agnes from the University of West Georgia in fall 2020. She decided to come to Agnes because she wanted to give herself the best opportunity to thrive. Even though she hasn’t had the chance to be on campus, she’s loved the experience of being a Scottie so far. I love Agnes Scott and I have grown more in the past few months than I had over the course of two years.

Meet Eliza Crofts! Pronouns: She/They Class year: Not Sure :) Home: Utah... Major/Minor: Studio Art Eliza transferred in fall 2020 to Agnes from Brigham Young University. The LGBTQ+ affirming environment and status as the nation’s top ranked most innovative liberal arts college are what drew Eliza to attending Agnes. After getting their Bachelors, they plan on attending a postgraduate school to study Library Science. It’s been an exciting opportunity to make new friends, learn new things, and find a community where I can truly flourish! #transferstudentspotlight #ntsw

Danie Knopf-Weinstein (they/them) is a third year here at ASC. They are studying Religion & Social Justice and Women, Gender & Sexuality studies. They dream of being the kind of professor that every undecided college student clings to in their first few semesters at college. Danie has been president of Hillel (@agnes_hillel) here at Agnes Scott for the past two years, and is one of the contributors for HerCampus (@hcagnesscott). An out-of-state community leader with Warnock f...or Georgia, this quarantine season they have gotten involved with something they thought they lost all passion for since 2016: politics. Danie loves to spend their time on campus in the COSMO lounge on the third floor of Alston in their favorite giant purple beanbag chair, or in the second floor Campbell kitchen, cooking with all of their friends and losing terribly in Mario Party. #accessibilitymatters #oaetakovers #ascaccessibilityweek
