Air Corps Aerobatics

1248 days into the project and today was the last stitch. Your future Federal Air Surgeon and the boys all got together, Mom tied the 4th from last, then me, then J, and since her name is "Matt's Batt"; Matt tied the last. Taping left on bottom left and the center section still needs the tank and the top fabric, but no more stitches! We paint, install the engine, assemble and do the paperwork.

Some more covering yesterday. Tapes on some of the bottom left, that's over 1/3rd done. Shrunk the center section to 250 and chalked the stitches. Put plywood "inspection" plates around the holes in the bottom after lining all that up. Doilies will go on both sides. Then took a load from the Harvard hangar to the new hangar.

Another picture Susan took of her in the new home, deeper in and canted one way or the other and the Stearman should be OK. Speaking of Stearman, 48 degrees cold and rainy, so all we got done was fabric placement for the bottom of the center section. Too cold for glue.

Today J's Bird flew to her new home, housed by the Museum of the Forgotten Warrior and available for airshows and flying displays.
