Albany-Dougherty County Big Read

There will be a book discussion and a Lecture on Ernest Gaines around town today. Tallulah Massey will be hosting a book discussion at 12:00pm. Also, there will be a humorous but insightful lecture on Ernest Gaines in the Albany Museum of Art at 7:00pm.

Come to the Central Branch Library tonight at 6:30 for a Basic Legal Research presentation by Laureen Alford Kelly.

There will be a couple book discussions around town today. Darton College will be hosting one in Building J, Room 121, Darton College at 7:00pm. There will also be a Literature and Literati: Cabaret Style so Come and join literature buffs in a discussion of A Lesson Before Dying Hors d'oeuvres will be served in L'Jau's Restaurant at 7:00pm.

Come out for one of the many events this Saturday February 20. There will be a free showing of the film A Lesson Before Dying, seating is limited, in Carmike Wynnsong 16 at 1:00pm. There will also be two book discussions. Come and join the ASU Upward Bound Program for a discussion of A Lesson Before Dying in Hartnett Hall, Room 111, Albany State University at 10:00am. Also, don't miss out on the Albany State University Faculty and Staff book discussion on A Lesson Before Dying radio broadcast on WASU FM 92.7 Radio Broadcast at 7:00pm. Join us tomorrow at the Westtown Library for a book discussion at 12:00 p.m.

Join us for a panel discussion on the Criminal Justice System and Capital Punishment on Monday, Feb. 15 at 7:00 p.m. It will be held at ASU's Simmons Hall in room 101.

Come out and watch the Reader's Theater's adaptation of A Lesson Before Dying tonight or tomorrow night (Feb. 26) at 7:00 p.m. It will be in the ACAD Auditorium at Albany State University.
