Carl Eugene Daniel, 57 of Americus, GA, passed away Friday October 23, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2020 at Central Baptist Church. Dr. Bryan Myers will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 25th from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral Services. Carl Eugene Daniel was born August 4, 1963 in Americus. He was the son of the ...late William Phillips Daniel and Donna Joan Hamilton Crumpton. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Navy Reserves. After his military service, Carl worked for Imerys in Andersonville as a Shipping Forman. He attended Central Baptist Church and Greater Vision Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Stacie Salter Daniel; his mother Donna Joan Hamilton Crumpton, two daughters and son-in-law, Alison Brooke Daniel of Americus and Brittany Daniel Benson (Corey) of Gainesville GA. A sister and brother-in-law, Merry Leigh Singley (Robert) of Americus and a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip Daniel (Lisa) of Americus. A sister-in-law Teresa Wellons (Greg) of Americus and brothers-in-law, Henry Salter Jr. and Chad Salter. His father-in-law, Lamar Salter and a grandson Lander Benson also survive. In addition to his father, Carl was preceded in death by his step-father Pat Crumpton and mother-in-law Alice Salter. Pete Smith age 72 of Americus, GA passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Dodge County Hospital in Eastman, GA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Americus-Sumter High School Alton Shell Stadium at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Hugh DeLoach and Rev. Bud Womack will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Pete Smith was born January 8, 1948 in Americus, GA. He was the son of the late Morris Broughton Smith and the late Evelyn Jennings Smith. P...ete graduated from Americus Highschool. He served in the United States Army Reserves. Pete was a State Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol for 32 years. He retired a Master Trooper in the Safety Education Division of the Georgia State Patrol. After retirement he was elected Sumter County Sherriff and served Sumter County for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Georgia Sheriff Association, a member of the Board of Directors and past President of the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home. He was appointed by the Governor to serve as a member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. He enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting and fishing with family and friends. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many people of Sumter County and people all over Georgia. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Carol Robinson Smith, three daughters, Hope Deriso (Don) of Americus, Kerri Ewing (Bo) of Americus, Amy Davis of Eastman and five grandchildren, Chandler Davis, Morgan Deriso, Macie Deriso, Savannah Grace Ewing and Sawyer Ewing. Two sisters-in-law Willene Smith, Diane Jenkins and a brother and sister-in-law James Robinson and wife Verlyn. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brother Morris Smith. Mrs. Mary Waddell age 80, of Americus passed away Friday, October 02, 2020 at Perfect Care in Americus. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020 graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Steve Golden and Rev. Brad Gleeson will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit the family at the home of Mark and Crystal Waddell 818 South Lee Street. Mary McCrary Waddell was born March 16, 1940 in TyTy, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lynwood McCra...ry and the late Sally Angeline Fowler McCrary. Mrs. Waddell was a homemaker, a self-employed seamstress and the owner of Ice Cream World formally in Americus. She was a charter member of Life Point Church and attended Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Goodin of Butler and two sons and daughters-in-law, John Waddell and Jeanna of Omega, GA and Mark Waddell and Crystal of Americus, a son-in-law Mike Hardester, and a brother and sister-in-law, Nathan McCrary and Jean of Severn, Maryland. Eleven Grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa Scott (Chris), Chris Goodin (Tiffany), Travis Goodin (Holly), Michael Hardester (Laura), Jenny Gleeson (Brad), Anna Weldon, Isabella Waddell, Macy Weldon, Mallory Jane Waddell, Gage Waddell and Mary-Margaret Waddell. Ten great grandchildren also survive, as well as special friends Elaine Borders and Everett Byrd. Mrs. Waddell was preceded in death by her husband Buford Earl Waddell, a daughter Jane Hardester and a brother Gene McCrary. Reverend John Paul Dent, age 73 of Americus GA, passed away Friday September 18, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2020 graveside at Evergreen Cemetery in Cordele. Rev. James Burke, Rev. Thomas Derryberry and Rev. Marion Atkinson will officiate. John Paul Dent was born August 14, 1947 in Ideal, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mack Frederick Dent and the late Mamie Lucy Parks Dent. Mr. Dent graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1979 with a degree in Theology. He Pastored Lighthouse Baptist Church in Americus for thirty-five years. Mr. Dent was a Godly man. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He instilled the importance of knowing Jesus Christ as your personal savior to his family and church congregation. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David Dent and Tonya of Americus. A daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Hall and Lee of Baconton, GA. One sister and brother-in-law Carolyn O’Neal and Jim of San Antonio, TX and a brother and sister-in-law, Fred Dent and Faye of Sylvester, GA. Mr. Wooden was born on December 17, 1957 in Ch...attanooga, TN. He worked as a correction officer and he also worked as Superintendent of ground and maintenance for the City of Americus. He served in the United States Army. Ms. Webb was born on July 31, 1924 in Cordele, GA to the late Fletcher Clinton Clark and the late Frances Clyde Clark. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. William Anderson worked as a Real Estat...e agent and she also helped her husband operate George’s Restaurant. Ms. Webb is survived by her two daughters, Mikki Saliba Ferguson (John) of Americus GA; Harriet Frantz (Bill) of Boaz, AL; two sons, Gary Clark Saliba (Jason Greenlees) of Columbus, GA; George Michael Saliba Jr. (JoAnn) of Cobb; three sisters, Betty Hargrove of Americus, GA; Shirley Lashley of Montezuma, GA; Eleanor Wilson of Macon, GA; three brothers, Jimmy Clark (Charlotte) of Columbus, GA; Billy Clark of Leslie, GA; Tommy Clark (Doris) of Columbus, NC; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Ms. Leila Stapleton Buchanan, 80, of Atlanta, departed this life, Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Northside Hospital. Leila was born in Americus, Georgia on December 18, 1939. Leila graduated from Americus High School and attended Auburn University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Following college, Leila moved to Atlanta to work for Delta where she worked for over 25 years. She retired to St. Simons Island where she lived for 16 years until moving back to Atl...anta in 2017 following the death of her late husband, John Buchanan. Leila was always very generous and passionate about her family, her friends and her precious cats. She loved the finer things in life, loved to travel and loved Auburn football. She was a member of the Cassina Garden Club in St. Simmons Island for the past several years, she has been a resident at Mount Vernon Village where she cherished her nightly card games. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Buchanan. She is survived by her sisters, Frances Roberts and Elise Brumby; her nephews Connor Roberts and John Brumby; and niece and namesake, Leila Wise. He was the son of the late Robert E. Anderson and the late Mary Evelyn Dykes Anderson. He worked for Delta Airlines for 32 years. He was raised in Central Baptist Church in Americus but was a member of Williams Road Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Virginia Louise Anderson of Americus, two sons and daughters-in-law Jarrett Anderson and wife Lisa of Fort Worth, Tx and Bryan Anderson and wife Dianna of Spring, TX. Two Stepsons, Nikolaos Vertodoulos and wife Julie of Foristell, MO and Dean Davis of Decatur, TX. One sister, Sarah Lou Stevenson of Americus and a brother and sister-in-law Bobby Anderson and wife Kathe of Atlanta. Ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Washburn was born on Oct. 24, 1950 in Greenville, Alabama. Mr. Washburn is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; a brother, Fred Washburn (Allyson) of Albany, Georgia; two sisters, Beverly McCollum of Dothan, Alabama and Nancy K...ondos (Christ) of Dahlonega, Georgia, and by his good friend and brother-in-law, Wayne Watson of Cuthbert, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Joshua Pope Morris and the late Evie McL...emore Morris. She was an LPN and worked for Magnolia Manor for many years and retired from Gold Age. She was a member of Plains Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Lou Ellen Smith Miakinoff (Michael) of Moultrie, GA and Gwen Landers (Ronnie) of Plains. One sister Virginia Ware of Smithville; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Lamberth was preceded in death by her first husband Russell Edward Brown and her second husband Harvey Lamberth. A daughter Carol Annett Judy, a son Edward Earl Brown, four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
