DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Duties include, but not limited to the following: Provide excellent customer service and security protection to all patrons and clients Assist any persons in needing directions or other information Escorts people/material to desired destination when safety of property or persons is a concern Patrol assigned areas on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity, persons of concern, and safety/fire hazards on an hourly basis or as assigned by Account Manager using electronic touch wand system Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to Account Manager and Police for correction or follow-up actions Responds to alarms and dispatches calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, understanding the limitations of Unarmed Security Officer position BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures. Executive Protection experience preferred. Military background encouraged. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public. Must be able to write and investigate required reports. Aptitude to understand and follow standard operating procedures to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance. Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policies and procedures. Must possess a valid state driver’s license (if applicable). Must not have been convicted or pled guilty or nolo contendere to a felony in any jurisdiction. Must pass a recognized pre-employment drug-screening test. Must be at least 18 years of age. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Some college preferred. Security Certification preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable situations. Shift work required. Long periods of walking and standing required. (Ten (10) to Twelve (12) hours) In some job sites, must have the skill to ride a bike effectively.
