Are you feeling momentum or fatigue? I’m hearing both from people and have felt both myself as well. . Something has shifted in the stars so it feels like a veil has lifted. . But underneath that it can feel like old patterns have resurfaced... . The ones you might have thought you were done with . The same old story is popping up again . This has been a theme in 2020, emphasizing all the crud underneath the rugs . Whether or not you’re aware of those old patterns, they can feel heavy and drain you . It can take effort to keep ignoring them . So in part it depends on the perspective you have of this opportunity . Could you have the courage to look at that old story again? . And love yourself through it? . Without a need to change the past (it’s done) . With full acceptance of where you are at this moment (you’re worthy no matter what) . And a knowing that you can create your future (you’re phenomenal and capable of amazing things) . With so much love that you can trust in whatever is unfolding? . It’s also approaching winter . And this is typically a season to turn inward . To love more and forgive more . Especially ourselves . Because it’s only with that self-love that we can truly appreciate and love those around us . I found that taking some time to meditate and reflect on this helps . Also breath work and movement and dance helps . And art helps . See if you can step into this . And feel that seed of potential within . That is the momentum . Relax into that awesomeness . Which is the universe in you . Feeling nervous? Don’t forget to breathe. Your breath is a connection to Spirit. Let this light into your body to help guide you. . I feel in so many people that they have a catch in the breathe. . Outwardly, they may seem fine, but the breath is not moving freely.... . There’s a kind and nervous tension. . As if slightly holding the breath could make it go away . It’s a bit of subconscious numbing: . If I don’t acknowledge it, maybe it doesn’t exist . But then the message will keep getting stronger . Until you can’t help but notice . How does your body send messages? . Through discomfort, through symptoms . Pay attention . A soft, loving, nonjudgemental kind of attention . I see you hurt . I understand . I love you anyway . Any way you are . It’s ok to breathe in the discomfort because deep down it doesn’t change how much love you have for you . That Spirit has for you . So no need to hide from yourself . Give yourself a big embrace . Keep your breath moving . Gently . Breathe into the tension to ease it up . Your breathe is Spirit . Supporting you through this human experience . . Happy Halloween and Blue Moon! Give yourself permission to play this weekend... it’s healing for your mind, body, and soul! . It’s refreshing to have a safe way to process intense emotions, things that scare us, and death and mortality. . Dressing up can also inspire us! I’ve seen multiple RBG costumes with black robes and the iconical lace collar.... . It’s also a time to honor souls that have passed in whatever way feels both soothing and respectful for you. . Any moment can be transformed into a healing moment. . . Luckily, I got this sash from my daughter yesterday - just in time to throw a costume together for today! . If you want to get an idea of how we’re spending our weekend, check out my last livestream How to Do Halloween in 2020 - link in bio. . Sending you love from our home to yours! . Can you name that emotion? . At any moment, can you name how you feel? . With truth and honesty?... . There are likely layers to it . And that’s OK . You can even have contrasting emotions . That’s ok too . Your emotions don’t make you good or bad . You can decide what to do with your emotions . You can even create emotions from within . But first you have to acknowledge how you are feeling in this very moment . That way there’s authenticity to your experience . As soon as you name how you’re feeling . You start to process the emotion . The intensity can start to diffuse . You give yourself room to make choices . After all, all emotions are transient . Unless we perpetuate them . That can be a feel-good thing for elevated emotions . Your emotions can also be a magnet in your life . So bring awareness to them . And start living consciously . Instead of drifting around or even feeling pushed around by life . You can get in your flow . And consciously create . Remember the posts on the heart shield? . Being mindful of how you feel can start to soften and lift the heaviness of a heart shield. . If you have a hard time naming your emotions, then start by choosing to be curious. . That will open up some wiggle room in the stuckness. . With gentle and consistent practice, this exercise can create extraordinary results . If you need help, go get it. . Have courage to take these steps. . And be the love . Dr. Arlene Dijamco The MultiDimensional MD . . Meditation to Transform Your (Heavy) Heart Shield into a Shield of Light . I created this meditation in response to current trends I’m seeing . With the ongoing impact of stress and grief (see my prior post on this)... . Many people have developed what I call a heart shield . A heavy heart shield can feel like tension in the chest . Some kind of weight on the chest . With a breath that is not freely moving into the belly like there’s a catch to it . (If you have sudden pressure in your chest or difficulty breathing, please seek medical attention immediately) . This can be accompanied by feelings of anxiety and/or depression . I say grief in the broad sense of the term .. Missing your previous life . Missing loved ones whether they are alive or have already crossed over . Missing the freedom of travel . 2020 has been piled on top of anything else in your life . And sometimes through the winter holiday months, you may notice these feelings even more . For these reasons, I’ve created a meditation to help loosen up that stiff heart shield . There is no feeling that a person cannot handle . But the mind thinks so . The heart shield develops as a coping mechanism . That’s ok for the short-term but not a sustainable way to feel for a long time . If you feel the need to have armor and a shield . Then make it out of light . Then you never forget what you’re made of . This is a ~9 minute meditation to help you through that transformation . Listen to the meditation by clicking the link in bio or go to my YouTube channel. . With love, Dr. Arlene Dijamco The MultiDimensional MD . . A warm cup of tea is one of many simple pleasures in life... see this spice tea recipe in the previous post . It was my first go at making this delightful blend . And my belly is so thanking me for it... . After eating a muffin (I know, not the healthiest food but it was a pumpkin muffin), that could make me feel weighed down . I still felt light . No bloating . I could sip on this tea all fall and winter . With warming herbs to help get your blood flowing . To warm up cool fingers and toes . Although the weather is not so cool yet where I live . I’ll be ready for it . If you make a new habit of drinking herbal teas everyday, you might be surprised at how much it can help you . I’ll be sharing more about medicinal teas in future posts . Dr. Arlene Dijamco The MultiDimensional MD . . I’m SO excited about this hand-blended spice tea! . ‘Tis the season for warming herbs, that also happen to be great for your . circulation, ... . digestion, and . immune system . And is so delicious! . This blend is not so spicy and includes . Rooibos - 1 teaspoon . Cinnamon - 3/4 tsp . Ginger - 1/3 tsp . Star anise - about 1/2 star . Cardamom - about 5-7 pods . Clove - about 10 cloves . Orange zest - 1/4 tsp . pinch of Licorice root . Steep in hot water, covered for 10-15 min. . Inspired by Sarah Farr, author of Healing Herbal Teas. @harborherbalist . Taking care of yourself can be fun . Good-for-you nourishment can be delicious . As I’m writing this, I’m realizing that many of the herbs and spices above (*clove) are also great for fall gut cleansing. . I know this may stir up some ick-factor but traditionally, this was the time of year to take an herbal parasite cleanse. . Balancing the gut is so important . Not just in terms of what you eat . But also in how you digest life . Do you have any of the above herbs and spices? . You could make a simple tea out of any of the ingredients above . A pure ginger tea with a bit of honey can be divine . Sip your tea mindfully, enjoying every drop! . Cheers and love, Dr. Arlene Dijamco The MultiDimensional MD . PS- I’ll show you how the tea came out in the next post! This is my first time making this blend. . Teaching meditation... here are 4 types that I use regularly . 1 Breathing meditation - Inspire means to breath in spirit. By placing a soft focus on your breath, you can align mind, body, and spirit instantly! Your awareness of your breathing helps you embrace yourself at this very moment! Breathe in love, breathe out what no longer serves you. . 2 Prayer - I consider this a kind of talking meditation, asking for help from God/ the Divine/ the Universe. You’re never alon...e! Truly! Ask for help anytime. And also have courage to receive it. . 3 Listening - OK, so you’ve asked for help. Now, it’s time to quiet down so you can listen to guidance. It’s hard to listen when there’s so much chitter-chatter in your head. Use your breath to help shift your awareness. Can you hear or feel that whisper of guidance come through? It’s always loving and supportive. . 4 Visualization - Now time to create your life. What would you like to have? What do you want to do? And most importantly, how would you like to FEEL? Use your breathing and play it like a movie, as if it’s already happened. And really feel it with emotion and in your whole body and being. It’s exciting to see how it will unfold. . . Is it that simple? Yes! Are there more details? Absolutely! . Both are true. It’s simple and complex at the same time. . Want a couple of major tips? . Embrace the mystery and it gets a whole lot easier. . Plus, small things done consistently yield extraordinary results. . . Sending you lots of love! Dr. Dijamco . . When I start to see trends in my practice, I like to share them with you because I know that many other people are feeling the same way. . What I’m noticing is a big energetic heart shield and feelings of grief in mane people, whether or not they are conscious of it. . I’m talking about grief in an expanded sense... whether missing loved ones that have crossed over, or missing your old way of life, being able to do things...... . And all of these feelings are going to be emphasized by 2020 . There can be grief from years ago that’s not yet fully processed . Grief can have a huge physical impact . From reading a WebMD article, I saw how grief can increase blood pressure and make you more at risk for clots. . The heart is literally aching . The breath also tends to be less free . With more tense chest breathing than relaxed abdominal breathing . You can approach any grief you have gently . Using the breath to help you process . And it’s so important to incorporate self-acceptance . Embracing and accepting how you feel . Because we are having a human experience here . So no matter how enlightened you feel . There will always be those human emotions . Accepting them is the place to start . So they can process and heal . And talk to a loved one . Sharing and talking can be so supportive . Go for a walk, get out in nature . Make sure to get enough sleep and eat nourishing foods . Bring more art and music into your life . If you need help, have courage to get help for yourself . It’s not a sign of weakness to get help . It’s not a sign of weakness to have uncomfortable emotions . Have courage . It can be so hard sometimes . And that’s OK too . There’s no judgment with how you process grief . Love yourself enough to take the steps to do so. . You can do it! . I’m here for you if you need me. . If you have had loved ones cross over, see Ep. 7 of The MultiDimensional MD with @maudy.fowler (see link in profile) . Dr. Dijamco . . This is my Mindful Photography walk at McIntosh Nature Reserve today . I’m not a photographer . But Marianne Ellis has taught such an amazing class in Mindful Photography... . So here I am walking the talk . What did I notice? . How resilient nature is . How wounds in the tree healed into beautiful curves . How a fallen tree can still grow towards the light . How a sapling tree branch was birthed from a prior injury . It reminded me of that Netflix documentary My Octopus Teacher @seachangeproject . Where I learned that an octopus can grow a new arm when one is broken off . It takes a lot of work and energy . But it is a natural process to heal . We all have an infinite potential to heal . No matter what . It’s our true nature . To tend towards health . Towards balance . Towards the light . This is MultiDimensional Medicine. . Want to join our 4-week Mindful Photography course? Check it out here: https://www.allworldshealthacademy.com/course Marianne and I collaborated to create this for you!
