The joy of friendship // Feeling a lot like this after wrapping up our first (and heading into our next!) weekend of October weddings and watching our couples celebrate fully with family and friends. May we never forget the great privilege it is to hold a best friend's hand, laugh at childhood jokes during a toast, to cheers with your Maid of Honor, and dance like never before. These seemingly simple actions are genuinely sacred. One thi...ng I'm holding onto after almost two years into a pandemic is the value of friendship and community. May we never take these small actions for granted and hold onto how sweet each relationship in our lives is. S E P T E M B E R // A month of working well and season changes... Quarter 3 has been a season of keeping our heads down and doing as much deep work as possible. While life continues to feel full of never-ending tasks in certain areas, it also feels like time is standing still in others. Anyone else? Work-life has been rich AND life-giving in all the best ways, while our personal worlds remain quiet and calm due to the continued progressi...on of this pandemic. Honestly, time has been tricky to grapple with this past year, and we're feeling that more than ever this season and leaning into that in full force. So as we head into the last month of Quarter 3, we’re evaluating where we're at with all things AOP. We're looking at some significant changes (all good things!), what we need to say goodbye to to give room for new growth, and just continue spending time doing deep work because that's where good things are growing. P.S. - If you haven't had an opportunity to read both Deep Work AND Digital Minimisalm by Cal Newport do so! They are must-reads for finding focus in a distracted world. And they've changed the way we work and live for the better. We're getting excited for a new month ahead, wrapping up Q3 well, and prepping to head into the weekend to spend some time in one of our favorite southern cities filled with all the spanish moss. Any guesses where we're celebrating our couple this weekend? It's going to be colorful, joyful, and full of happiness...and while we've always been a fan of neutrals, we think rescheduling your wedding and planning during a pandemic deserves a celebration full of all the vibrance and color. With all the colorful details incorporated into this event, you can't help but smile and feel full of hope. J U L Y | I'm running into July and the start of Quarter 3 with a full plate and a very different type of summer than in years past. I don't know about your summer, but this feels like a season full of work mixed with lots of fun energy, drive, intentionality, and celebration...and its so good. Simply, this summer is just what I needed. And in between the loads of work - I've managed to pack in a few of my favorite summer activities in m...y free time including photographing a few creative projects (this one shared in today's stories) and spending any time possible by water in whatever fashion I can find it in - slip-in-sliding, tubing, swimming, wading - I'll take it all. Sprinkle a bit of travel and a few of the best non-fiction books on top and what more could you ask for?!?!
