Anarchy Wrestling 17.10.2021

We have been closely monitoring the situation in the state of Georgia with the rising number of Covid cases in Northeast Georgia and Habersham County. As a precautionary measure, Anarchy Wrestling has made the difficult decision to cancel our September 25th event at The Landmark Arena. The safety of our wrestlers, staff, and fans is of the utmost importance. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates on Anarchy’s return. While this is a painful decision, we are confident that it is the best decision. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Please stay safe.

Anarchy Wrestling wishes to send it's heartfelt condolences to family, friends, fans, and colleagues of Georgia legend Steve "the Brawler" Lawler. Steve began his career in 1984 wrestling throughout the southeast. In 1986 he won the Brass Knuckles championship from Crazy Luke Graham in Deep South Wrestling. It was also around this time that he joined the original Bad Company, a three-man tag team similar to The Fabulous Freebirds, with John Michaels and The Nightmare and wer...e successful in the region during the mid-to late 1980s. After the close of Deep South in 1988, Lawler would move on to Southern Championship Wrestling and form Thunder and Lightning with Dino Minelli. Gower continued wrestling in various Southern independent promotions having memorable matches, and gaining invaluable experience, against veterans such as Ray Candy, Randy Rose, Ted Allen, Ron Starr, Mr. Wrestling II, Dick Slater, Ken Timbs, Dusty Rhodes, Mike Golden, Abdullah the Butcher, The Bullet, Scott Studd, Billy Black, Lee Thomas, Grizzly Boone, and others. One of the top stars for Joe Pedicino's Georgia All-Star Wrestling, he won the GASW Heavyweight Championship from Nick Busick. He also ran a wrestling school during this period for the Masked Superstar, and later the Global Wrestling Federation's training facility, where he trained a number of wrestlers including Marcus Alexander Bagwell, Disco Inferno, Murder One, and his younger brother Terry Lawler. Perhaps his longest most legendary feud was with Wildfire Tommy Rich. Whom he said were his greatest matches he ever had and calling them "some of the bloodiest, they were some of the hardest, and I have a lot of respect Rich to this day." Our prayers are with Terry Lawler and the rest of the Lawler family, including his wife, during this difficult time. Steve was 56 at the time of his passing.

Anarchy Wrestling wishes to send its heartfelt condolences to the friends, family, fans, and colleagues of Bert Prentice. Bert was a prominent promoter and manager primarily in the Tennesee area. He managed numerous talents under the name Christopher Love, including the LPWA tag team champions, Judy Martin and Lelani Kai, known as the Queen's Court. It was perhaps in promoting where Bert was most well known. Promoting events in Nashville, Tennessee, Bert was a master of crea...ting events that were must-see happenings featuring must-see talent. All of the hottest names in wrestling's past, present, and future were presented on his events at one time or another. Bert had many ties to the Landmark Arena through various stars that have passed through throughout the years. Bert was a masterful promoter, whose influence will be felt for many generations to come.

Anarchy Wrestling wishes to send its heartfelt condolences to the friends, family, fans, and colleagues of Jody Hamilton aka Assassin #1. Jody began his career in the late 1950's teaming with his brother, Larry (The Missouri Mauler). At the age of 19, while wrestling for the Capitol Wrestling Promotion (pre-WWWF days) he became the youngest to co-main event Madison Square Garden when the Hamilton Brothers faced Antonino Rocca and Miguel Pérez. Shortly after, Jody would move ...on to a short singles career which would land him in Georgia in late 1961 where he was paired with Tom Renesto as The Assassins. The two would wrestle all over the world as a team until Renesto unmasked in 1972. Jody would start competing as The Assassin in 1974 and begin one of the longest-running feuds in Georgia Championship Wrestling history with the late Mr. Wrestling II. In the mid-80's he would retire the golden mask and adopt a new identity as The Flame. In 1986, Hamilton started Deep South Wrestling. He would sell the promotion in 1988 after suffering a back injury. After recovering from the back injury, Hamilton started the Power Plant for WCW that produced such talent as Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page, Goldberg, and The Big Show among countless others. He would also manage Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma. He was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame in 1994. Jody continued training wrestlers after the sale of WCW to WWE and in 2005 started a new version of Deep South to serve as a training facility for future WWE talents. The agreement ended in 2007. Jody Hamilton will always be remembered as one of the greatest masked villains in wrestling. He was 82 years old.
