Healing Scripture: Psa.118:15, "The sounds of joyful songs and deliverance are heard in the tents of the righteous: 'The Lord's strong hand is victorious!" Good... morning, the word for today is QUIET-hushed, still, calm. The story of Ellijah,the prophet, running from Jezebel is found in 1 Kings 19. He is hiding in a cave and the Lord asks him why. God speaks to Elijah in a still small voice and gives him a new assignment! My issue today is making myself slow down and be quiet enough to listen -anyone else relate? Good morning the word for today is community a group of people brought together by common elements such as locale, social interest, political affiliations or religious characteristics. The poet John Donne said, No man is an island. no person exists only to or for him or herself. Community is good, the Lord declared even from the beginning, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him (Gen 2:18)." The first helper was Eve but G...od, I believe, was referring to whole of humanity in that we all help one another. Many of the first believers in Christ needed help translating their faith into action, especially in the realm of everyday interaction with those around them. The Apostle Paul told the believers in Rome: I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of Godwhat is good and acceptable and perfect Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another (Romans 12:1-2, 13-15). Dwelling in harmony sets the believer apart from the more prevalent self-seekers of today May the richness of the Lord’s love overtake you today and give you great blessings to share!!

I stopped by today to drop off something for my parents who will be married 70 years this year. Well, this will be the first Easter since their marriage that th...eir home hasn’t been the location of an Easter Celebration. From the yard, where I visited while they remained on the porch, Mama announced, If you could Facebook, Sara Lynn, I’d get you to take our picture. I explained that I indeed could do just that now that I had finally joined most of the world. She hurried in the house only to return weighted down with all her Easter candy. She piled half of it onto Daddy’s lap and then struck a pose. Once the photo was taken, she said she wanted the caption to be, Where is all my family to help eat all this candy? I have four brothers. We all have children and grand children, some of those also married. All their family is about 70 folks! I wonder if they envisioned all of us in 1950 when they wed. Happy Easter , Mama and Daddy. We all will be together soon. We are missing your Sunday dinners after church. We love you and are so blessed to have you two at 87 and almost 90 who continue to live your testimonies. See more
