Apex Direct Care is now US MedClinic. 1608 Martha Berry, Rome, Ga.

APEX Direct Care 27.08.2021

In light of all the craziness going on, US MedClinic is now offering Telemedicine to EVERYONE.... yes everyone. Whether you are current patients or not, if you are having any problems, you are sick, need medicine refills and don't want to get out you can call our office and we can conduct a visit over the phone while you're still in the comfort of your home. Prices are as follows: $40 for 6-8 minute call $60 for 9-12 minutes $80 for 13-15 minutes ... All patients who are current members will still have their discount applied so therefore, those prices would be lower for anyone with one of our memberships. Also.... we ARE doing the COVID-19 testing at our clinic. No referral needed. $110 for those without insurance and $50 for those who want to file insurance (the $50 is the nurse fee for the provider performing the test). All you have to do is pre-register on our website OR call our office to get scheduled.

Update from Dr Harris....

APEX Direct Care 24.07.2021

US MedClinic now has a Med-Pod at our Rome location and are now offering testing for COVID-19. Keep in mind this is for SYMPTOMATIC patients only. You dont have to be a member to be tested. You dont even have to be seen. But, for the safety of our patients, we would prefer you call our office instead of coming in. If you feel like you should be seen for an illness or think you need to be tested for COVID-19, we will come out to your car and swab you and will use the Med-Pod ...for treatment if needed. The test is NOT free, but, it is very affordable for patients who dont have insurance or anyone that doesn't want to flood the ER. We are doing this to try and prevent anything from spreading further and to minimize exposure as much as possible. Our main priority is keeping our office clean and as safe as possible for those who need to still be seen for regular checkups, etc. Please call our office if you have any questions!! 706-266-9090 See more

Great news.... our Rome clinic is now offering testing for COVID antibodies. Call our office for pricing. Businesses can get a discount. These will all be ran in our lab down in the Carrollton office. They are 99% sensitive / specific.

Community members of West GA, Happy Easter Sunday! These are trying times for both us as medical professionals as well as citizens and business leaders in a cou...ntry that is economically shuttered during the COVID19 Pandemic. We are blessed to have strong leadership within our community. As a physician in the field testing patients as well as a local business owner, I see the pandemic from multiple viewpoints. One major bottleneck in this Pandemic is rapid patient testing, including active disease (PCR) as well as proving immunity or recovery (antibody). In order to do this, I am in the process of setting up a full molecular lab in the old Boys & Girls club / Burwell / Carver High building. I purchased this building approximately 1 year ago for economic development. It is located in the West side of Carrollton. I am proposing a Molecular Lab to allow rapid PCR analysis (including COVID19 testing) as well as IgM and IgG serology testing to see if patients, healthcare workers, and our community members have already been exposed. We have informed the city and we have a tentative date this Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 to rezone the building from multi-family to office use. Once this is complete, the equipment to get rapid COVID results as well as equipment to test patients for COVID antibodies can be moved in with ability to ramp up diagnostic volume by the end of the month. Unfortunately, there has been push back by a couple of leaders in the neighboring area who have complained to the Mayor requesting that the meeting be pushed back, because they think the facility will cause a Wuhun-like release of the virus. I’m concerned our city leaders might be convinced Covid-19 is not going to be a longer term issue and will push the meeting until we can all come together in person for a meeting in June or July. This decision would further delay an already difficult and time-sensitive issue. Again, we are proposing a Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory that will be capable of performing rapid PCR analysis on samples so we don’t have to wait a week for sample results as well as Antibody testing as soon as the city approves the zoning. As we all know, the sooner we can rapidly identify positive patients, the sooner we can isolate them from spreading the disease. This will help identify COVID patients and prevent spread as leaders try to open the economy back up. I ask for everyone's help in educating the local leadership, fellow citizens, and local community members on a couple of key details regarding our project: 1. The virus is already circulating in our community. 2. You don’t catch the virus from a diagnostic lab, you catch it from other people. 3. A diagnostic lab is not a biological research lab where animal testing and live viruses are studied. 4. The Medical Community needs all of the testing capacity it can get. 5. Rapid testing and results is paramount to a timely Pandemic response. 6. A molecular diagnostic lab will not destroy property values in the area.
