Our phones lines are now working again so anyone who needs to should be able to get through to our answering service tonight. We will be open tomorrow (hopefully with the phones still working). We are very sorry for all the confusing messages that went out to our patients earlier today. We were trying to notify everyone that the phone lines were down but that in the event of labor or an emergency, that the hospital would still be able to contact us via cell phone. Unfortunately, a cancellation message was accidentally sent out. Hopefully everyone has now received a message saying that it was an error and that their appointment is not cancelled. We are sorry for the error.

Unfortunately, our phones at the office are not working. We have contacted Comcast and they are trying to resolve the problem. You can still contact us via the patient portal if it is not urgent. If you have a true emergency that can not wait or think you are in labor please proceed to Northside Hospital. They will be able to reach the providors via cell phones or pagers.

One of the most important jobs you have as a parent is keeping your child safe. One of the critical steps in keeping them safe in the car is making sure that they are in the right type of car seat for their age and size and that the car seat is properly installed. Weigh more than you want to or more than you should? For many of us the answer is yes and up to 1 in 3 Americans are obese. Is it because we eat to much or because we do not exercise enough? The simple answer is yes. You do have to consume more calories than you spend to gain weight but the real answer is actually far more complicated. As most of us have instinctively known, some people are more prone to gain weight than others. There are significant genetic factors that contribute to a person's likelihood of becoming obese. The real surprise is that as you become heavier, you are more likely to have children with genetic mutations that will make them prone to obesity - a surprising and concerning fact.
