ARCC- Applied Resources of Chattooga County 15.10.2021

As a strong advocacy agency for adults dealing with developmental disabilities, Applied Resources of Chattooga County normally pays the fee for adults to attend... a week long camp in Rising Fawn. Due to covid, camp has been cancelled this year. Our plans are to provide the 4 adults who usually go to camp with day trip opportunities. We have chosen the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway trip, Tennessee Aquarium, Chattanooga Riverboat, Lake Winnie and The Safari in Pine Mt., GA. All these are reliant on their opening and availability. If you know of another opportunity for something like these, please share it with me so we can consider that as well. Thanks!!!! See more

I went before the Chattooga County School Board tonight to request they consider providing a Sensory Room at the Elementary school. They agreed and now I meet w...ith someone about what equipment would be best. I am thrilled that they listened to the needs and are responding. I also asked for them to consider hiring a Parent Mentor. They were under the impression that the Parent Coordinators took care of that and they do to some extent but not the same thing at all. Parent Mentors deal with students dealing with developmental disabilities. Both of these is a truly positive step for Chattooga County. Now we just have to get more parents on board and advocating for the change needed. If you really want to get involved and help your child consider joining Applied Resources of Chattooga County (ARCC). Contact me for more information please. See more

It's time again for ARCC's annual Rome Braves fundraiser. The winner gets to enjoy a Braves home game with 14 of their family or friends along with a menu of $500. Tickets are only $5 each or 12 for $50. This home game is graciously donated to us by a wonderful family in Rome each year and they also donate another game just for those dealing with developmental disabilities to enjoy.. I cannot express the fun these folks have at this event. Please support us in this effort. Contact me and I will do my bet to make sure you get the winning ticket!!
