I challenge you to empower the women around you. We are all aware of the unspoken boys club where women never feel comfortable and lack an unconditional seat at the table. We still struggle to gain the same success and representation as our male counterparts. Women, in any field, have encountered systemically flawed ladders. But, these outdated norms that are often the strongest force behind persistent gender gaps and unbroken glass ceilings dampen what women can achieveand therefore, what the world can achieve. Every woman and girl should have the autonomy to create the kind of life she wishes to lead, unconstrained by sexist expectations and stereotypes. The choices we make could accelerate women into the 21st century or push us back decades. Here are some ways to empower women: 1. Mentor personally and professionally. Many women and young girls growing up in marginalized communities are held back by poverty, violence, and a lack of access. Reach out or put a notice on social mediayou can change someone’s life. 2. Support small women-owned businesses. Monika, owner of @palaceofglitter, writes, Whoever just placed a 50+ order in my shop, thank you so muchthat literally just paid for half of my groceries tomorrow. This is what $50 dollars mean to a woman entrepreneur. Any gesture, whether promoting on social media or buying from their shop, can have a positive impact. 3. Support women in your community. During that office meeting, encourage your new coworker to speak up! Make space for women in meetings. Or just tell the amazing women in your life that you appreciate them. So, this is your daily reminder to lift up the women around you to succeed and excel in all aspects of their lives. These small actions can have the largest of impacts, creating a more equitable future for all. Because empowered women empower the women who empower the world. xoxo, Jazzy .
