The article also says foods such as garlic and onions can cause foul breath because, even once they’re digested, the chemicals that cause their odor are absorbed into your bloodstream and from there into your lungs, where they are exhaled, according to the American Dental Association.

Stress can affect oral health, says Dr. Matthew Messina, the interim director of the OSU College of Dentistry. The article reported that using muscles to push teeth together ...and grinding around is one of the body’s ways of reducing the energy made from the stress, Messina said. Dr. Leena Palomo, a dental professor at Case Western Reserve University, recommends placing self-care and stress management as a top priority during the pandemic.
