Wow! Look at my new greenhouse/tunnel that Larry and I put up to hold some plants over the winter. Now I need to figure out which plants do not like a wet winter so I can move them to safety.

We still have plenty of plants to sell and also offer gift cards in any amount. Why not do some Christmas shopping and get gift cards for the gardeners on your list. They could wait until spring to shop or jump right onto planting as long as the ground is not frozen.

Congratulations to Wendy White, the winner of the drawing for $100 worth of free plants. Fall is the preferred time to plant perennials as the roots keep growing until the ground freezes even after the tops give it up. I am still up-potting plants, so you still have time to shop before it all goes onto the ground smushed together so it doesn't freeze.

I have been busy up-potting my perennials to get them ready to survive the winter outside just pushed together in groups for warmth. Some are going from gallons to two gallons as they are now becoming root bound in the pot and need more space both for growth room and for insulation. Some are going from quarts to gallons. This takes more soil, bigger pots, and time, so the price increases. Of course, fall is the best time for planting perennials and shrubs, and the plants love being in the ground. Come buy before I get them all up-potted. Your plants will love having the winter to develop more roots and will bloom better next year.
