Atlanta Auto Restoration 16.12.2020

What a difference a few weeks makes. Lots going on at the shop. We got one of our 1969 Z28s assembled from the firewall rearward. Our 1949 Dodge truck was final polished and detailed, went for a few test drives,still working out the bugs. We tried out our new Dewalt buffer/ polisher and happy we made the purchase. Our 1965 Shelby GT 350 went home. Our 1966 Fairlane got some undercarriage work completed,adjusting the four link suspension and installing brake cables. Our 1949 F1 cab was installed on the frame . Our 1963 1/2 Falcon Sprint is getting close to leaving, working through a few electrical issues. And lastly our 1959 Dodge truck frame was boxed in and welds dressed and prepped for a four link suspension install. Once again,hope all is well with you and yours, we thank you for your support.

So busy making my head spin,slow progress but progress nonetheless. We got the 1969 Z28 sanded and buffed,turned out great. Got the deal finalized on a 1964 Mercedes 300SE. The engine and transmission was installed in the 1955 Oldsmobile convertible. We continued bodywork on our other 1969 Z28 . We also started our four link rear suspension set up in our 1959 Dodge truck. I would like to introduce two new members of our team , Andy Herman comes to us with a well rounded wealth of experiences and knowledge in Automotive Mechanical as well as others. Brian Cornell started with us this week bringing a lengthy career in automotive body and paint,focusing mainly on hot Rods,classics and Antiques,please welcome them both. Another great week,new projects coming in ,the waiting list continues. This week we painted two engines fresh from the engine builders. The Porsche recieved a new fuse panel,wired and installed. The Porsche also got a fresh new fuel tank and fuel lines. Our 1972 Camaro got a new dash .Our 1958 Corvette got some new body side trim. And last but not least a beautiful 1967 Chevelle came in for some convertible top work. And as always,thank you for your support.

It’s always a good week at the shop. Always pushing forward,this week the sheetmetal metal shop was in full force with a roof replacement on a 1968 Firebird and a second round of block sanding and priming on our 1963 Chevy II Super Sport. Th assembly shop did well also with finalizing repairs and going through a full detail and doing a delivery checklist . Also this week we pulled the next car on the list out of storage,a beautiful black Chevelle in for some engine bay dress up and dash work. Had a great day ,got to see some car show friends that we haven’t seen in awhile. Our customer won the ladies choice award. He brought both of his vehicles restored by us . Can’t wait to do it again next year .

Another good productive week,we are getting a few new hires in with some enthusiastic attitudes,very refreshing. At the first of the week we got our new sign installed and wired, big thanks to Benji Harbin and American Metal Decor Benji Harbin for the sign fab and electrical engineering. Next our 1969 GTO had the rocker moldings installed . The Mustang II got a fresh coat of paint on the undercarriage. Our little Dodge truck is getting its final check over. Our 1971 Chevelle got doors installed and aligned . Our 1954 Belair got rear brakes ,steering linkage,steering column and gear box. Our 1981 Trans am Pace car got new paint on the engine . And one of our 1965 Mustangs is getting fresh paint on the front end following a collision. Hope all is well with you and yours.As always I appreciate each and every one of you for your support.

Another productive week, our 1969 GTO is coming along ,carpet installation completed,hood scoops painted and installed. The Porsche 911 got engine bay seals,oil tank installed with new sending unit and tail light housings and headlight assemblies painted and installed. We continued the AC install and 1/4 glass installed on our 1957 Belair,the interior in this car is going to be beautiful.Our 69 Nova got the front end sheetmetal final aligned and hood installed. Our 1965 Mustang was disassembled and a new Rh fed apron installed and radoat or support straightened.And our 1961 Thunderbird recieved a battery tray repair senction and 1/4 panel patches. Productive week this week. Things are looking up after reorganizing the staff ,still have a few positions to fill for qualified candidates. We finished the paint booth clean up this week,it received a fresh coat of paint and new filters. We did a full detail and polish on the 1963 Corvette ,ready for delivery next week. A nice GT 350 came in for some minor mechanical work and electrical work. Shelbys are starting to become as common as Corvettes around here. One of our 1971 Chevelle projects got color this week. Our 1967 Firebird got a new lh wheelhouse and our 1954 3100 got a new floor. Hope all is well with you and yours and as always,I appreciate your support.

Another great week at the shop,so busy ,new projects coming in and sending a few out.This week we finished our little 1965 Mustang that came in for some collision damage. We also got some paint on one of our 1969 Z28 projects. We installed door glass and trim on a 40s Packard and started some clean up and electrical work on a Mercedes 560sl that fell victim to a hurricane a few months ago. Don’t forget Tomorrow we will be at Miller’s Ale a house in Alpharetta for the Roswell Motoring festival from 10-2.Hope all is well with you and yours and thank you for your support.

With a reduced staff this week progress was minimal. We took the opportunity to regroup and clean house a bit. The sheetmetal shop got cleaned up and organized. Paint booth got some new paint on the walls and new filters,pics later. We did have a sweet little Karman Ghia come in for some door latch, and hinge issues,repeat customer . Our 1963 Corvette has been reassembled after its repairs and paint work on the front end and Rh door. Our 1969 GTO recieved new window seals and carpet and installation. Friday update, our 1967 GTO got some paint following the repair and replacement of the rear deck filler. Our 1955 Belair is finished with some common modern upgrades,power disc brakes, air conditioning. We did a windshield replacement on a 1955 F100 ,1932 Ford roadster in for front suspension alignment , our 1969 Nova 396 recieved front fenders ,and cowl panel. Our 1969 Dart GTS got doors and side glass final assembled and aligned. Hope all is well with you and yours and thanks for your support.

Busy week as usual. Great progress was made on our 1970 Charger,doors aligned,door glass aligned,door panels on it,,bled the brakes and cleaned up a few things under the hood. Our 1968 442 was final block sanded for paint this week. Our 66 Charger was block sanded and a second coat of primer applied to the body,doors and trunk. Our 1971 Chevelle was block sanded and taped out for final primer. And Our 1966 GTO was primed and block sanded and prepped for blending and clearcoat after a deck filler panel replacement.I hope all is well with our followers and their families. Another great week at the shop. We are currently short staffed and finding qualified technicians has become extremely difficult. This week our latest arrival ,1963 Corvette came in for minor fiberglass repairs neae the corner of the hood opening. Our Model A truck came in for some fine tuning . Our 1969 Camaro went home . Our 1967 GTO went under the knife for some major surgery on the deck filler panel and inner sail panel area. And last but not least our 1953 Belair got a freshly built treadle vac brake booster and master cylinder,ready for installation. Hope all is well and stay safe .

Still pushing forward,thankful to have so much work and good employees. This week we got our Chevy II body in its second coat of primer. Our 1959 Dodge truck cab got block sanded and ready for its next coat of primer, our 1969 Camaro convertible,in for repairs,got repairs finalized and painted,the Porsche 911 was in full force this week with a new wiring harness installed from front to rear,it’s definitely a different animal. The 1955 Oldsmobile engine has been prepped and painted,ready to install. Tommy spent most of the week pulling his hair out working on door seals and adjustments on one of our little Falcons. And our Firebird restoration recieved a new Rh quarter, and deck lid. Hope all is well with you and yours ,stay safe

With the best crew in the restoration business,the boss was able to take off a couple days for the Mountain Moonshine Cruzin. Finishing out the week ,in 90 degree heat, the shop did great. Our 1969 GTO ,going for a concours level restoration,a little work was done to the front bumper to make for a perfect fit. Our 1967 GTO needs to make a trip to the sheetmetal shop for repairs,the car was purchased with a beautiful paint job but hidden damage was found under the rear glass t...rim. Our Cobra project got love this week with fine tuning door gaps . One of our 1969 Camaros got media blasted this week. Our 1960 Falcon came back for window felt installation. Our Chevy II was block sanded and ready for a second prime.Our early Bronco recieved new wheel bearings and new gaskets . One of our F1 projects revived new paint on the cab and doors. Last but not least another Chevelle came in for some miscellaneous repairs and upgrades. Wishing everyone well and thank you for your support. See more

Rollin right along! This week our Model A Hot Rod went home to join the chassis.Cars like these are the cars that started the hobby as we know it. A vehicle that we started 9 years ago came back this week for completion,Fenders ,hood and cowl panel got painted and will be assembled in the next few weeks. Our 1912 Hupmobile got some well deserved love this week,with all seat buckets and cowl sections block sanded and primed and the doors stripped,blasted and primed to start bo...dy work,interesting side note,the inside of the doors between the inner and outer skins are filled with cork,works well as a sound deadener. Our Bronco had a lot of miscellaneous leaks fixed this week and some paint matched for some new door hinges. Our 1954 Mercury got some new floor patches on the lh floor.And our newest arrival ,a 1970 Charger ,came in for a long list of finish work . We are thankful to be busy and are always thankful for our supporters. See more

Good ,productive week ,still very busy and getting busier despite signs of the virus getting worse. This week we were hot and heavy on an A/C install on a fresh 1955 Belair. The little Dodge truck made it to the booth for some paint touch up. Our 1958 Corvette is coming together nice . One of our Falcon projects came back for front end sheetmetal installation ,the owner has done a great job on engine installation and wiring. One of our past 1955 Belair restorations is back fo...r a check up. Our 1949 GMC has been primed and blocked once and gets a second coat of primer next week. We finished up the mechanical work on a 1982 Corvette ,fresh brakes,A/C and repaired a battery drain. And our most ambitious project,the 1956 Belair convertible is starting to look like a car again but far from done. Thanks again for everyone’s support ,and stay safe . See more
