The bright side of #fallback :: A new view of @inkyoungc /Two Hearts/ I make art in the hopes of inspiring people to take action within this troubling sociopolitical climate. My current work depicts the intimate and personal spaces in daily life. While juxtaposing simple forms and familiar objects through painting and sculpture, I discover life's optimism and peace even in its most chaotic and complex settings. Since I believe discovering and recognizing sweetness in our... everyday life is essential, I channel this fundamental human quality through the art. Born in Seoul, South Korea, In Kyoung Chun currently lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia. Chun’s work has been included to its permanent collection of High Museum of Art, the City of Atlanta Mayors Office of Cultural Affairs and Fulton County Public Library of Atlanta. #contemporaryart #atlanta #neon #sculpture #fall #fallvibes #flowers

#wcw :: /How Am I Feeling Today/ (2009-2020) by artist Cecelia Kane features 89 unique hankies which have been slowly quilted, beaded, and painted on for the last ten years. In this self-portrait, Kane investigates the nature of her Self :: a mixture of her feelings, her thoughts, her body, and her strong connection to her mother. 89 is the number of years her mother lived. How are you feeling today? Cecelia Kane is a nationally exhibiting artist with twenty five + solo shows... since earning her MFA from Georgia State University in 1997. She is a painter, fabric artist, performance, video and earth artist whose work delves inside the universe of self and being, aging, death and our connection to nature and community. Cecelia is a mother and grandmother who lives and creates in Peacham Vermont, a small rural hill town in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. #wcw #womenandtheirwork #womensupportingwomen #hankies #hankerchief #embroidery #beadwork #painting #howareyou #feeling #alive #ready #determined #tired #pressured

EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR ARTISTS #forimmediaterelease :: Atlanta Contemporary proudly announces our inclusion in The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts expansion of its Regional Regranting Program. By establishing the Nexus Fund, Atlanta Contemporary will give direct and necessary support to visual arts projects being done by Metro Atlanta’s ever-growing community of contemporary arts practitioners. TheNexus Fund: Emergency Relief, in this first year, will give $1,000 to... support 60 self-identifying visual artists. In order to ensure that artists of every ethnicity, race, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability status, and socioeconomic class have access to this fund, Atlanta Contemporary will work with new and established partners to reach communities that have been historically underrepresented. Applicants are not required to use funds for a project rather, the unrestricted $1,000 may be used to cover costs associated with living during these unprecedented times. Due to the overwhelming need for financial support, we ask thatapplicantsself-monitor as the Nexus Fund willnot be able to support everyone who applies. Applications open November 1, 2020 with funds disbursed December 16, 2020. The blind application process will be led and managed by Program Coordinator, Nisa Floyd and supported in part by Emma Blessing, Visitor Services Coordinator. About the Nexus Fund Founded by artists for artists, Atlanta Contemporary was built upon the principles of engaging in experimentation and risk-taking through exhibitions, programming, and support of working artists. The Nexus Fund expands upon the ethos of these early days. By supporting new work or through the expansion of an existing project, the Nexus Fund sponsors dynamic and innovative individual artists or partnerships. #emergencyrelief #funds #grants #visualartists #apply #november1st #covid_19 #emergencyfund #covidrelief in bio to #learnmore
