People- do NOT use Magic Erasers on your teeth! They are fabulous on the walls, but are made of melamine foam, which is made up of formaldehyde, melamine, sodium and sulfurous acid. You can actually remove your enamel. Stop listening to those uninformed people (yes, you can read that 'idiots') on TikTok etc. Ask your dentist for advice on whitening.

It has come to my attention that some of y’all are using activated charcoal to whiten your teeth. PLEASE DON’T! It is highly abrasive and can scratch and actually remove your enamel, causing the darker dentin to show through. Enamel doesn’t grow back. Talk to your dentist about safe ways to whiten!

The media, as it unfortunately is often these days, is NOT giving you the whole story. CALL your dentist. See what precautions they're taking. WHO is not talking about our offices. WHO Chief Dental Officer Benoit Varenne, Ph.D., also expressed concerns about media coverage of the interim guidance in an Aug. 13 email to global dental leaders. ...Dr. Varenne said, Unfortunately, a number of media headlines intentionally or not when they are referring to the WHO guidance, did not mention that the recommendation to delay routine oral health care is only suggested in an intense uncontrolled community transmission scenario. A scenario that [does] not fit with the current situation of [most countries] around the world. Dr. Varenne added, So please be aware of the missing information sometimes disseminated by the media that could increase fear and concern of patients seeking oral health care. I think we have all to play a part in sharing with the public, national dental associations and health authorities the full story provided in the guidance document. See more
