URGENT Announcement: FLY-IN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! After communicating with Mac Hodges, it is with great sadness that we announce the postponement of the Bad Apples fly-in until further notice. Anyone who has purchased tickets so far will of course be able to use those tickets for the rescheduled event.... The new date will be determined as soon as possible once the situation becomes clearer. We will be working on the refund process over the next few weeks and will notify everyone who has signed up via the email they used in the sign-up process as well as on the FB page and website. Stay safe and healthy and we'll see you in the air when this is over!

Why did we choose the month of May? In a word: Weather. May tends to be a fairly quiet weather month with very few storms, pleasantly warm days but nights cool enough not to need AC the whole night (unless you like it really cold).... Last year the final forecast was for zero rain and it was something like 99.806% accurate. That one hour of Huricanadomagedden only interrupted flying for a brief period but the stories it generated will be the stuff of legends for years to come. Anyone waiting to decide on the weather for a whether to go decision is kind of missing the point. Fly-ins are a blast for flying, seeing other scenery, and experiencing different terrain than you usually experience. But they are also a fantastic venue for meeting other pilots, learning new techniques, and generally advancing in the sport, as well as for sitting around the campfire laughing about experiences like the christening and recovery of the Triketanic at the last fly-in. For those still interested in it, we will be reporting on the weather as we get closer to the day of, but don't use the weather as your only decision whether or not to go.

For a large part of the Eastern US, this is a dreary, rainy Monday morning, while South Georgia and Florida are dodging the drenching. About all the rest of us can do is keep thinking about that weekend after mothers day. Signup is open and there are less than 80 days to go!
