Bainbridge Humane Society 12.10.2021

Hello shelter friends. We wanted to take a minute to explain again why we are currently by appointment only. This is only a brief breakdown of why and if anyone... would like for us to go into further detail about any reasons, please don’t hesitate to call us and we will be happy to do so. We would rather make sure you understand than have anyone upset or frustrated with us. Like so many other businesses, we are extremely short-staffed right now. There are times when the one employee trying to manage the front office has to go back in the kennel area and lend a hand and that may mean the answering machine picks up your call or the knock on the door isn’t heard. We promise we will return the call and we also promise we are grateful to any donations that get left at our facility! Our current facility is having maintenance issues with the building that would make letting customers walk throughout a danger to anyone not accustomed to the slippery floors or not dressed in appropriate clothing and also a liability for our small non-profit. We have dedicated a fenced in area and an indoor room as our meet and greet spot for potential adopters to get around the issue of people being in an unsafe environment. We ask anyone interested in adopting to go online and view the animals we have available (its updated daily) and fill out the very brief adoption app so that we can get an idea of what kind of pet you are looking for. We happily make suggestions of others you should meet while you are at your appointment based on what you like or don’t like about the animals you are meeting. We are prepared to help you find the perfect fit for you and your family and never want you to feel rushed while making your decision. By making an appointment, we are able to ensure one of our staff members can dedicate that time solely to you and what your needs are. Because we are limited on staff, the last thing we want to do is interrupt your adoption appointment by having to pull the employee helping you away to help with unplanned arrivals, hence the appointments allow us to plan for everyone’s visit! We are trying very hard to accommodate anyone that has a need from us, all while caring for the large number of animals that come through our doors daily with limited staff and resources. Please be patient with us and allow us to make the allotted time to serve your needs to the best of our ability. Thank you shelter friends!
