This press does one thing, but it does it so well. Our Double Fan Adhesive press allows us to put together adhesive bindings quick and efficient. Just the right tool for that broken paperback or hand Bible that needs some help. #bookbinding #bookrepair #bookconservation #doublefanadhesivebinding #brokenpaperbacks #atlantabookarts
One year ago today I flew to Idaho for my last book arts workshop away from home. Thanks to @pinyonjaypress for the invite and the great workshop. I can’t wait until we can do it again. #bookarts #bookartsworkshop #pinyonjaypress #pressureprinting #sandragraph #asbernpress @jullpaul @killerbeedesigns
We have big books and little books on the bench today. These books are about to get their covers attached and new spines put in place. #bookconservation #bookrepair #biblerepair #bookbinding #bookarts #atlantabookarts
Today my red spine is peeking out from under my red brick. I love when the tools and bindings coordinate. #bookbinding #bookarts #newbook #pressuntildry
I just received a copy of the article I wrote for the @themovablebooksociety on preserving pop-ups. It’s great to find a new way to get out the word on how to best care for your items. #popups #paperengineering #bookarts #bookpreservation #popuppreservation
We’ve been busy with a conference that’s coming up soon, but keep working on books in the shop. This Bible has a new flexible lining to the text block and is almost ready for a new structural spine. Just a little longer and it will be heading home. #bookrepair #bookconservation #bookbinding #bookarts @bookpaperthread #atlantabookarts
Today we’re getting ready to make some labels for boxes and books in the shop. First we need to thin the leather to the right thickness. Paring the leather makes for a better label, but it does leave sweeping up at the end of the day. #bookbinding #bookarts #sharfix #atlantabookarts
I think these deconstructed endbands can keep until Monday. When I’m back in the shop, I’ll line the cloth with japanese tissue and wrap them around new cores. I’m always happy when I can save them. #endbands #bookbinding #bookconservation #bookrepair #bookarts #atlantabookarts
I’m preparing for the next online workshop and asked a friend to assemble some jigs for cutting book board. I’m excited to have these in the shop and to share some ideas with new students. #bookarts #bookartsworkshop #onlinebookartsworkshop #bookbinding #bookboard
Here's a nice blog post about the online workshop that Andrew is teaching at Book Paper Thread. Glad to know that there's still ways to learn and teaching in these challenging times. Andrew has a new set of classes opening for registration soon, see them at bookpaperthread.com
It’s always a lucky day when you have a friend who comes across a lot of 1/2 plexiglass, then offers to help you cut them up into press boards. Everything is going to be so flat now. #thanksfriend #bookartssupplies #pressboards #bookbindingtools #bookbinding #bookarts #atlantabookarts
A nice piece by the Gwinnett Daily Post about the shop and some of our work. Glad to let our neighbors know about what we’re up to.
Another day, another book full of tape. Trying to remove the tape from this early journal for an upcoming exhibit. The book was stiff and the pages broke, but first we tackle the adhesive tape. #tapeisevil #bookconservation #bookrepair #taperemoval #atlantabookarts
Sometimes we make really big boxes. This book will get a smaller one after I’ve finished this box for a photographer. #clamshellbox #preservationenclosure #bigtray #bookbinding #bookarts #atlantabookarts
All the family bibles are getting spines today. I’m happing to have these finished soon and put the door, to make room for the next batch. #bookconservation #bookrepair #biblerepair #bookbinding #bookarts #atlantabookarts

I hope the students appreciate the custom made shopping boxes we’re making for class materials. Getting ready to bring a stack to the post office today. #bookarts #bookbinding #bookartsworkshop #preservationenclosures #workshopmaterials #atlantabookarts
It’s a good day when you break into a new box of Eska Board. We’re preparing materials for Andrew’s workshop at @bookpaperthread and trying out this board from @colophonbookarts. Off to the board shear next. #bookarts #bookbinding #bookboard #workshopprep #preservationenclosures
Taking some time this weekend to take a workshop at Book Paper Thread on working with Konnyaku treatments on japanese paper. Some great textures are coming up and a great way to spend a weekend. @bookpaperthread #bookarts #papertreatments #konnyaku #momigami
