In BB’s pawfesional opinion, the best recommendation for all pets is unlimited snacking and belly rubs. #mixedbreed #vetvisit #vaccinateyourpets

Our daily grind is very strenuous, to say the least. The emotional turmoil of caring for tiny, snuggly creatures wears us down. #kittens #vetvisit #ragdoll

A day in the life of Brantley and Jordan

Brantley and Jordan Animal Hospital 22.10.2020

This sweet girl (we think) needs a home. We have dogs and they are going nuts. We don't want her to become a dog treat. She wandered up to our yard from the woo...ds. She is so loving, cuddly (not feral), eating well, and litter box trained. Please give "Spooky" the kitten a good home. PLEASE share! See more

Just a shout out to thank our wonderful employees for wishing us a Happy Boss's day on Friday. We want them all to know how much we appreciate their hard work every day. The last several months have been a learning curve to say the least. Through all the craziness(on a variety of levels) they have given their all and continue to do so. We couldn't do this job without them. We don't ever say it enough but myself(Dr. Steph), Dr. J & Dr. B want to say THANK YOU for all you do!!

Lab Lesson #1: Otodectes cynotis! Or, as you would probably know them, ear mites. Unable to be seen by the human eye, ear mites are found by looking under a microscopic lense. These little guys can live for up to four weeks, and are most commonly found in cats. Ear mites live, of course, inside the ear canal and they are unfortunately contagious! One of the signs that an animal has been infected with ear mites is a dark, waxy substance inside their ears. Thankfully, ear mites are completely preventable! Using monthly prevention such as Heartgard, Revolution or Simparica keeps these nasty mites from taking up residence inside our precious pet’s ears. #earmites #vetmed #parasites

HAPPY NATIONAL BOSS’S DAY! Bet you didn’t think we’d remember, huh?? WE DID! The best part about our bosses is that they’re also our animal’s physicians. We spend hours working hard with these three incredible people, and still find time to bombard them with questions about our own critters. They ALWAYS have answers and help! We are fortunate to work for BJAH, to be working under these veterinarians. HUGE thank yous to Dr. J, Dr. Steph and Dr. Beezle! #bossesday #appreciation

Today wraps up our week of appreciation for our technicians. There are so many different aspects of being a veterinary technician. Spending five days celebrating what they do only scratches the surface of how much work our ladies put into this job. There is mountains of behind-the-scenes work that they take care of to make our lives run smoother day to day. Thank you for the hard work! It is seen and it is appreciated! We love you, Charlotte, AJ and Manu! #vettechweek #vetmed #appreciationpost

Thursday has arrived, so it’s yet again time to shower one of our BJAH ladies with love. Today, we celebrate Manu. Manuela (who we call Manu) has been a part of our BJAH team for over a year. She started out as reinforcement for our technician team, and later became Dr. Jordan’s technician. This lady took on one of the toughest challenges in American history: Wrangling Dr. Jordan and his daily schedule. But, who better to keep him in line than a German lady with enough sass... to power up the entire state of Georgia? Manu has always stepped up when we need her, and is always eager to learn. In addition to being the kick-in-the-pants Dr. J needs, she also happens to be one of the kindest human beings on the planet. She starts off most mornings by greeting Dr. Jordan with a great big, Goooooood mornin’ Sunshiiinneeeee! And he just loves it, there is no doubt about that. Her warm, boisterous laugh fills whatever room she is in. Everyone at BJAH has witnessed her big heart that overflows with kindness. Manu met her husband while he was deployed in Germany, and moved back to America with him, where they raise two precious boys. She has been an animal lover her entire life and dedicates long hours to pet rescue. Manu enjoys spending time with her horses, feeding masses of humanity out of her kitchen, and helping others whenever she possibly can. WE APPRECIATE YOU, MANU! #vettechweek #vetmed #appreciationpost

We’re three days into Vet Tech Appreciation week, which means we still have more celebrating yet to come! On this Wednesday, we celebrate AJ. AJ has been working at BJAH as Dr. Brantley’s technician for two years. While Dr. Brantley is by far AJ’s favorite boss ever, he still spends time each and every work day finding ways to drive her absolutely bananas. And everyday, she finds it within herself to laugh at his antics. AJ has been in the veterinary medicine field for sev...en years and has worked harder these past two years than she ever has before. She has always been passionate about animals, so entering a career taking care of fur babies was one of the easiest choices she’s ever made. She can often be found having a snack, taking pictures of adorable pets, finding new ways to bother Dr. Jordan, or cracking jokes on unsuspecting coworkers. One of her favorite things in the world is to talk one on one with the patients because AJ knows what they are saying, even when no one else does. AJ very much enjoys dentistry, and plans to take specialty courses in pet dentistry in the coming years. Outside of work, AJ loves spending quality time with her seven fur kids at home, and also her ball python. She enjoys reptile husbandry, camping, and is a RuPaul’s Drag Race aficionado. WE APPRECIATE YOU, AJ! #vettechweek #vetmed #appreciationpost

Can you believe that Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week is FIVE whole days? Of course you can, we need every minute of it to celebrate our technicians and all of the hard work they do. Today, we celebrate Charlotte. Our fearless leader! Our guiding force! She whose butt of which we are all a pain in! Sharlaaaayyyy?? Where are yooouuu?! I have a question!... If you spent a day with us at BJAH you would hear countless voices beckoning for Charlotte. She has been with BJAH for twenty six years. Every year with her at the helm of our team only gets better. Charlotte will always answer our questions, or double check anything we aren’t sure of. She is ready and willing to help in every way she can, without hesitation. When she isn’t kicking butts and calling names at the clinic, Charlotte loves to be at home with her family. She has a passion for wildlife rescue and enjoys learning about caring for injured critters. She also has fun crafting, running, and spending time with her brand new grand baby. WE APPRECIATE YOU, CHARLOTTE! #vettechweek #vetmed #appreciationpost

Carmen the kitty is NINETEEN years old! That’s around 92 in human years. She loves to talk and still gets around just fine for an elderly lady. It’s not often we get to visit with such distinguished animals. What an honor! #seniorpets #felinefriends #vetvisit
