Black History Month Observance Breakfast 14.08.2020

Just got off a conference call with The Governor, the State House Legislators, and the head of Georgia Department of Public Health. We will have testing sites s...et up in Georgia in the next few weeks. The testing sites will be in the communities because hospitals and medical facilities are already getting too busy. The testing sites will be for those who have been seen by a prior doctor and have a referral for testing. There are already clusters of the disease that have been seen from some churches and other groups in Georgia. Please encourage younger people to not go out. Even though it may be that they are not as affected as others, younger folks are highly mobile and can/will transmit the disease easily. The goal is to stop the spread and anyone/everyone can transmit the Coronavirus. New cases will increase exponentially. And when testing begins, the diagnosis of citizens with the virus will increase exponentially. The best way to fight this virus in hopes of stopping a major healthcare crisis is for citizens not being mobile or around each other. Please stay home. Please do not go anywhere, unless necessary. For public updates go to DPH.GA.GOV or Google Georgia Department of Public Health. It has info including info on those already diagnosed. The State Representatives are still going to the Capitol tomorrow at 8:00am to approve the funding in Georgia to fight Coronavirus. I am concerned, but this is my duty. I will be touching nothing and no one. The Capitol is open to the public, but we highly encourage for no one to come and watch online. Federal help has been requested to be expedited. Our local hospitals are getting low on hospital gowns, masks, etc. I will be updating by posting as I learn more. Have others follow this page for updates.

Black History Month Observance Breakfast 30.07.2020

After tireless hours and months of planning, the 34th Annual Black History Month Observance Breakfast is in the books. This event wouldn't be possible without our committee members and our community sponsors. A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge of the 11th Congressional District of Ohio, and our award recipients: Lauren Chambers, Emerging Leader; Ronzell Buckner, Unsung Hero; and Lula Lunsford Huff, Legacy of Leadership. To our fearless leaders, Teddy Reese and Congressman Sanford Bishop, your guidance and leadership is unprecedented! We're so grateful for you! Until next year...
