Blue House Farm 03.11.2021

We will open for muscadine/scuppernong season on Wednesday, August 25. We believe there will be enough ripe for light picking. It is a small crop this year. Our hours this year will be Wednesday through Saturday from 8 am until 1 pm. We will reopen on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 pm until 7 pm, weather permitting. It is always a good idea to call the farm if you have questions about availability or weather. The farm phone number is 706-699-0762. Muscadines/scuppernongs will be $1.50 per pound this year. We encourage everyone to bring your own clean food grade picking container. We ask that you help us have a safe season by following current Covid-19 protocols.

Blue House Farm will not be open for u pick blueberries this season. The blooms were at a vulnerable stage during the below freezing temperatures of early April and this resulted in a major crop loss. We will miss seeing everyone and hope that we will see you again in 2022. As farmers we are grateful for abundant crops like last year, mindful of the impact of weather, and hopeful for another year. For those of you who love muscadines we will announce an opening date for the season in early August.

We will be open at the farm this week Tuesday through Saturday from 8 am until 1 pm and Thursday and Friday afternoons from 4 pm until 7 pm. Most of the muscadines and scuppernongs are ripe and ready for picking. As always, later in the season there are more bees and wasps. The end of the season is fast approaching. We expect to have good picking conditions this week but are uncertain how much longer the season will last.

There are lots of ripe muscadines and scuppernongs ready for picking at the farm. We think we have about two more weeks in the season depending on the weather. We will be open Tuesday through Friday from 8 am until 1 pm and Thursday and Friday from 4 pm until 7 pm. We will be open on Saturday for appointments. Please call the farm to schedule if you would like to come on Saturday. With rain predicted this week, it is a good idea to call before driving to the farm.

We have had some sunny days and muscadines and scuppernongs are ripening. We plan to open Tuesday through Friday from 8 am until 1 pm and on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 4 pm until 7 pm. No reservations are needed for Tuesday through Friday. It is always a good idea to call the farm and verify we are open and have not had to close for any reason. We will continue to require reservations for Saturday. If you would like to reserve a time on Saturday please call the farm phone at 706-699-0762.

We have checked the muscadines and scuppernongs each day and we feel there are enough beginning to ripen for us to reopen. We will open Friday and Saturday this week for reservations only. Please call the farm at 706-699-0762 if you would like to schedule an appointment. For those who did not get to come last Saturday we will keep your reservation time. There are ripe muscadines and scuppernongs of every variety but Darlenes have the least amount ripe. With all the rain there are some splits and more bees and wasps than usual. We hope to reopen for the season with regular season hours on Tuesday, September 1.
