Bowen Painter Trial Lawyers 13.02.2021

We missed Tuesday (it was a busy day around the office) so this week its "Wednesday's Tip" and it's this...if you are injured in a motor vehicle collision and seek medical treatment, if you have health insurance, provide your health insurance information to the hospital or medical provider. DO NOT provide them with only the at-fault driver's automobile insurance information. The at-fault driver's automobile insurance is not going to pay for your medical bills as they are incurred. The carrier will want to pay you a lump sum to settle your case down the road to reimburse you for the medical treatment you underwent. It will not pay your bills as they become due.

Tuesday Tip #1 If you are involved in a motor vehicle collision, you are NOT required to provide the at fault driver’s insurance carrier with a recorded statement. In fact, in most instances, it is best not to. If you do not have an attorney to handle the adjuster’s request, tell the adjuster you are happy to explain what occurred but you do not consent to having the conversation recorded in any way. Now, if your own insurance company requests a recorded statement, that is different and you are likely required to provide one. But remember, if the at fault driver’s insurance company is requesting the recorded statement, just say NO! Check out our next tip next Tuesday! We look forward to hearing any questions you would like answered in the comments. #TuesdayTips #BowenPainterTrialLawyers
