This week, we celebrate great achievements on the court and in the classroom. After breaking Brenau's all-time single-game scoring record with 41 points last week, junior Tyleia Williams of Macon was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. We are so proud of Tyleia, and I know her team is as well for having her among their ranks. I also want to remind you to join us for our virtual baccalaureate service tonight at 7 p.m. via live stre...am as we pay tribute to all of our 2020 graduates. This service will recognize the resilience, patience and hard work of this year's graduates through reflections, dance and music. The names of all candidates for graduation will also be featured shortly before and immediately following the program. Learn more about the 2020 Baccalaureate program at https://www.brenau.edu/2020-bacc-program/. Again, as we head into the holidays, I must remind you to continue to wash your hands, wear your mask, watch your distance and get a flu shot if you haven't already. Plan for a holiday in which you are in small groups and taking all precautions to protect the health and safety of yourselves and others, so that we are able to return in full force for the spring semester. I wish you a great week, and I look forward to seeing you at our baccalaureate service tonight. Anne A. Skleder, President

It was tough not having our 2020 commencements. While we can't have an in-person ceremony yet, we still want to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates. Please join us Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. to live stream our baccalaureate ceremony.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends and that you did so in the culture of prevention because we have more holidays coming up. We need to make sure we're keeping ourselves and each other healthy. This week, I want talk a bit more about the season of gratitude. One of the things I was thinking about as I was giving thanks this Thanksgiving is how important it is that we tell each other that we're grateful. It's a key to good teamwork, and ...as students, faculty and staff, we need to work together to achieve our goals. So I hope you will continue to express gratitude to others. One of the ways you can do that is by joining us for our baccalaureate event next Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. via Livestream. At this event, we will honor and pay tribute to all of our 2020 graduates. We are so proud of their hard work and the challenges that they faced and overcame to earn their degrees, so please join us as we reflect and pay tribute to them next Friday. As always, I must remind you no matter where you are to remember to wash your hands, wear a mask, watch your distance and, if you haven't already, get your flu shot. Everything we do now to protect the health of ourselves and others will pay dividends for our future. Thank you and have a great week, Anne A. We are incredibly proud of our #WomensCollege students! Through the GOLD program they collected 10 bins of canned food and $300 for the bilingual pantry, and made cards for Phoenix at Lake Lanier residents which will be used therapeutically. #BrenauServes
