Your comment will be deleted, unless it’s a question about your child’s car seat. Thanks! This seat was rear facing and restraining a 1 year old. A lot of people forward face their children at 1 year of age. I did it with my first child. I regret it and am lucky nothing happened. A Mom was driving and hit some black ice, then the vehicle rolled. The only injury the child has is a broken femur, compared to a spinal cord injury that could’ve occurred. Do y'all SEE this seat?!? IT STILL PROTECTED THAT CHILD. This specific seat retails for $100. It's NOT a "nice" seat, but it further illustrates the point that you don't have to spend a fortune to keep your child safe. Read your seat’s manual. Understand it. Just because it says you can forward face at X amount of lbs doesn’t mean you should. Children are 5 times safer riding rear facing rather than forward facing. According to a 2007 study in the journal Injury Prevention, children under 2 are 75 percent LESS likely to die or be seriously injured if they are in a rear-facing car seat. Get your car seats checked by a CPST. Use it properly every.single.time. The life of your child relies on it.
