Observed on October 10th every year, World Mental Health Day exists to raise awareness, reduce stigmas, and most importantly offer support to the millions of people who are facing mental health struggles each day. This year has been particularly challenging in so many ways, and World Mental Health Day serves as a very important reminder that you're not alone and that it's ok to not be ok! Make sure to reach out to someone today and let them know that you are thinking of them and here for them, you never know how much of a difference it could make!
This is certainly something phenomenal worth noting! For the first time in history, two women are sharing the Nobel Prize for their development of the CRISPR technique, a method for genome editing. Their technique is already allowing scientists to create crops that can withstand drought and pests, will be used in the future to treat and cure diseases, and has the potential to create real actual unicorns (no, not kidding). What an awesome reminder that incredible women hold up half of the sky!
We have all heard the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder", but what happens when a pandemic forces you to be stuck at home with your spouse all day? When all of the distractions of "normal life" are removed, more and more couples are coming to the realization that they no longer want to stay in their marriages. Since the pandemic has not only created a whole new set of challenges for married couples but also highlighted existing issues that can no longer be swept und...er the rug, it comes as no surprise that since the start of the pandemic divorce rates are climbing more rapidly than ever before. Even though the courts are operating in a different capacity and many divorce proceedings are now taking place via Zoom, the idea of restructuring a family in the middle of a pandemic can feel incredibly overwhelming, even if a divorce is completely amicable. However, as the author of this NY Times article writes, a divorce can also be incredibly freeing, even in the midst of a global pandemic. At Buckhead Family Law, we're committed to protecting your family's wellbeing as you take the steps to move your life forward, especially during these challenging times.

For we know that our diversityour patchwork heritageis not a weakness; it is still, and always will be, one of our greatest strengths. This is the America that was attacked that September morning. This is the America that we must remain true to. - Barack Obama #NeverForget

So heartbroken over Chadwick Bozeman's unexpected passing. He was an inspiration to so many and while he played a superhero on-screen, he truly was one off-screen. May his silent battle with cancer and unfortunate passing serve as a reminder to us all that you never know what someone is going through and to choose kindness whenever possible. My children are devastated about losing one of their heroes, but the legacy Chadwick leaves behind is nothing short of incredible. Rest in peace, Chadwick. Wakanda Forever.
"Paris might not have had a magic wand, but she didn’t let that stop her." Totally impressed and inspired by this little lady's heart and determination. Way to go, Paris!
