Wabash Avenue YMCA in Chicago provided housing as well as job training for community members and is the site of the first convening of what would become the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH). The Association created what is now known as #BlackHistoryMonth. While the Wabash Avenue YMCA is no longer a Y, it is on the National Register of Historic Places, due to its importance to the Black community it served in the early 20th century. : Kautz Family YMCA Archives
