Alberto Cavalieri was born in Caracas in 1969. He is a Venezuelan visual artist who, throughout his long career, has achieved renown for his monumental sculptures and public works integrated into architectural forms. He has been working in visual arts, and particularly in sculpture, since 1994 when he completed his studies in industrial design, mechanical engineering and art, which he carried out in Caracas from 1986 to 1994. Vincent Ganivet integrates everyday objects and raw construction materials into performances and assemblages. BUTTON SCULPTURE UNVEILING POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE The October 13th unveiling of the Button Art Sculpture "Garden Back Path by artist Vickie McCrary at the Lilburn City Park Greenway Trail has been postponed due to a train derailment. There was a major train derailment near Harmony Grove and Rockbridge just after 1:40 AM on Sunday, October 11th. Due to the possibility of hazardous materials involved, an evacuation order was issued for the surrounding neighborhoods. That order has now been lifted. The Greenway Trail between Main St. and Harmony Grove (along with the mini-park near Velva Ct.) will be closed for at least the next 3 days.

The work is one of two (2) Button Art Sculptures approved by the Council. There will be a total of 200 to be placed throughout Gwinnett County. The piece, Garden Back Path is by artist Vickie McCrary and is located at the Lilburn City Park Greenway Trail. The second work, an interactive Button Art Sculpture, is located at the Lilburn City Hall Library. Button Art, Inc. is a Georgia nonprofit created to further the love of art in Gwinnett County. Gwinnett County was created by an act of the Georgia legislature on December 15, 1818, and named for Button Gwinnett (1735 1777), one of the three Georgia signers of the Declaration of Independence. Through public and private collaborations, while engaging artists of all ages, cultures and media, Button Art, Inc. is committed to manage, create, and install 200 original Button Sculptures throughout Gwinnett County. Dutch street artist Leon Keer is a master of three-dimensional art. He can transform any flat surface into a mind-bending illusion using paint. And for his latest mural, he has created Shattering, a complex balance of teacups that look as though they’re on the brink of spilling over. Painted in Helsingborg, Sweden, Keer’s mural is a commentary on the fragility of life. Life is as fragile as a teacup. I want to show that your life can be turned upside down in an instant. You ...could lose a loved one. Or your home. That's why, on the teacups, I painted all kinds of doomsday scenarios, Keer says. From oil spills to melting glaciers, each teacup is decorated with a scene that explores some of the difficulties our planet is facing. At the top, the last cup is about to tip over and bring down the entire stack. To complete the story of the artwork, Keer collaborated with augmented reality designer Joost Spek. By scanning the mural with the Leon Keer app, the teacups actually shatter thanks to a special animation.
