Ruth Carolyn Tench Hampton age 82, of LaFayette, GA went home to be with The Lord Tuesday September 1, 2015. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina to the late John William & Elvie Lee Nelson Tench. She had lived most of her life in LaFayette and was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Caron Yarn Mill and E.T. Barwick Mills at the Archer Plant. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alo...ng with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Grady Lee Hampton, son: Ansel Hampton and her brothers: John and Neal Tench. She is survived by her daughter: Sharon Butler of Chickamauga, GA, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 pm 9:00 pm and Thursday after 11:00 am until the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday September 3, 2015 in the chapel with Reverend: Clyde Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens LaFayette, GA.
