Camden County Sheriff's Office K-9 Teams- unofficial

Earlier this week the Glynn County Sheriff reached out to our K-9 Unit for assistance in doing a narcotics sweep at their jail. Camden County K-9s Troger, Jimmy, and Archie were able to assist. We have a close working relationship with the surrounding K-9 units and McIntosh County K-9s Luna, and Triton also came to help out. Thank you to Sheriff Jump for recognizing the hard work and dedication of our K-9 unit and requesting us for the sweep of his facility.

The PGA tour held the RSM Classic tournament this past week at the Sea Island Golf Course in Glynn County. Although this year was different with no spectators allowed our Explosive Detection K9s were still there ensuring the safety of all who participated. Last week a home invasion occurred in Woodbine where an elderly female was attacked in her apartment. A male suspect broke into the residence, attacked the female and stole belongings from her apartment then fled the area on foot. Our bloodhound team was called and Lt. Prescott deployed K-9 Phin at the scene of the crime. The team tracked about a mile and K-9 Phin went to a nearby area where a male was located. Items were found along the trail that were taken from the house leading up the male. As a result of this and after investigators spoke with the suspect, a 15 year old male was arrested for this crime. Thank you to the great nose of K-9 Phin and members of our bloodhound team!
