C2C 2019 Week 3 Day 5- Last post of the 2019 summer and It was a blast! We began our Friday by learning about the difference between needs and wants and how to filter our spending through the use of a 3-way plan. Next we completed an interactive activity about food groups and learned how identify the food categories. After our pizza party and a movie we finished the day with a Talent Show. We had a great time in week three and can't believe the 2019 summer sessions are already over. Looking forward to seeing all of our campers and some new faces for our 2020 sessions. C2C 2019 Week 3 Day 4- We began our day by learning about types of outdoor recreation and reinforced our lesson with a hike. Next we learned about making introductions and importance of building friendships. After lunch we had a guest teacher Ms. Sarah teach us about greater than and less than concepts and how that relates to making smart purchases. Lastly, we learned about networking, the kind of information you need, and how to build our professional groups. #NMML #Camp2Community #NCL #YMSL

C2C 2019 Week 3 Day 3- Today we began by learning how we use money. We read a social story and reviewed questions about spending, earning and saving. Next students learned about the digestive system and the role nutrients play in keeping us healthy. After a break for lunch we reviewed social norms before ending the day with a lesson on work ethic. #NMML #Camp2Community #NCL #YMSL

C2C 2019 Week 3 Day 2- Today we began by learning about meal time manners and how our expectations change depending on our settings. Next we discussed germs for our Health and Fitness Block. We learned about how germs spread, where they spread and how to prevent them. After a break for lunch we started Part 1 of our money unit and discussed how we earn, save and spend it. We ended the day with our Career Bingo activity designed to get students thinking about different careers and their roles in our communities. #NMML #Camp2Community #NCL #YMSL

C2C 2019 Week 3 Day 1- We had a great start to the week at Camp2Community! Today we began with Life Skills and learned about rules in the work place, school and camp. Next students reviewed whole body listening and discussed expected and unexpected behaviors with our Speech Therapist Ms. Trudy. After a break for lunch we discussed resumes and even created our own basic info resumes as guides for future job applications. We wrapped up the day with a lesson on food safety and preparation where students learned to identify which foods were safe to eat and which needed to be cooked. #NMML #camp2community #NCL #YMSL

C2C 2019 Week 2 Day 5- We began our Friday by learning about signs in our community and then played bingo reinforcing the signs we had learned about. Next we completed an activity about food groups and learned how identify the food categories. After our pizza party and a movie we finished the day with a Talent Show. We had a great time in week two and are excited for all of our new and returning campers and counselors.
