It's a week of firsts! Davin Yagcioglu, another student in our Youth Aviation Program has been in Illinois with his Dad this summer and has soloed and passed his written. Congratulations, Davin!

Masya Blackmon, a student in our Youth Aviation Program flew his first solo yesterday! He is the 24th student in the program to do so! Congratulations, Masya!! Masya is pictured with his instructor, Tim Hester. Tim is one of several instructors who volunteer their time instructing students in the program. Masya soloed in the Aeronca Champ pictured below. It's a taildragger airplane that was restored by the students in the Youth Program.

A little flight training going on this morning in our Stinson 108-3 aircraft. What a beautiful day to go flying!

Another milestone for YAP mentor Tami Mars! Congratulations on your first solo in the Candler Field Museum Flying Club’s Aeronca Champ!

Congratulations to Tami Mars, one of our Youth Aviation Program mentors, on passing her FAA written exam! Tami is currently in flight training at the Candler Field Flying Club with instructor Tim Hester. Her goal is to earn her private pilot certification. Way to go, Tami!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping the safety of our supporters in mind, Candler Field Museum will be postponing our 2020 Vintage Day event. The Board of Directors will be looking at future dates to reschedule the event once the pandemic passes. We will keep you all informed of a new date once it has been determined! We look forward to having you all join us!
